Well, the WCIII editor wasn't indescribably difficult to use. To adjust the finer points (what the heck is backswing point?) you need a lot of understanding, but otherwise.. nope.

Oh Gods, if DotA spreads its filth and fame into SC II, then nothing less than a mappers' inquisition with a professional 'net-predator for finding peoples' addresses for us shall suffice. D:
...uhm Eh, with the amount of the game being made open to us, I doubt we're going to be seeing modding as it was in StarCraft. StarCraft was mostly closed, without support for editing almost every aspect of internally referenced unit data. Blizzard was smart enough to recognize that the ability to turn gameplay in maps and mods completely inside-out was atleast part of StarCraft's success, and just to compete with other games and companies anyways, they're making it far more open than before. WarCraft III had support for custom models, let there be no question that StarCraft II will. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am gooey...
Pour me, poke me, watch me gloop! And before you say, 'fooey,' Find me to be a wonderful soup! |

I'm thinking my first map will be Armored Core. But not the style of Armored Core map that eternalegend, me, and Moose have made (haiya!) but a mix of gameplay and features from the actual Armored Core game and gameplay of the Armored Core maps. Since WC3 editor supports custom models I'm planing on either making the models myself or getting someone else's help with that (we'll see how shitty I am with a 3d modeler ... maybe I can find some models on a website also, I used to know of one ...). Dammit, if only Terrenblade still played SC.

Eh's a pretty cool guy

I'll be remaking PAW, and if unit modification is as easy and powerful as WCIII, then you'll see some much cooler coombat, instead of dragoons, we're talking tanks with mounted machineguns, the faint possibility of a troop carrier that actually carries troops, Chinooks that land. [And if anyone is whining aobut Dropships landing, you dumb fuck. Watch the videos carefully, units get unloaded before the dropship gets anywhere near the ground. Landing is PURELY visual.]
I can't wait Oh also, I want an interceptor blood map xD ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Eh has a gauss rifle and eh doesnt afraid of anything.

About every DotA player I speak to, they want DotA transfered to StarCraft II as soon as possible. Otherwise they would be pissed off if it isn't famous. Though I don't think the title "Defense of the Ancients" would ever fit in StarCraft II except Protoss. These players will be pissed off, even if they don't find at least two of them. US West will be fine, they're not overrunned but East? You're going to see packs, and some random server titles that leads to DotA. They're addicted ever since. I blame Blizzard for making Aeon of Strife and Eul for originally developing the first DotA. It didn't came with the World Editor, it was just set up there by either Blizzard or a player ready for anybody interested to download. But I have a feeling to be positive it will come with the StarCraft II editor. Your custom units will have a "Custom Unit" category, it's also made for players who wants to create more of the same units with different names and statistics. Aren't Dragoons replaced by Immortals? Even though Dragoons are STILL in the Editor or as a secret seen in the Campaign, doesn't really mean they used as much as the Immortals since Immortals are default units. |
