Feedback!? Is welcome, yes yes.
Looks like something you'd play when you're high.
None.
Could you please convert it to another format?

I can't be bothered to. I'm going to go away though. Delete the topic if you want.
I'll see if I can get Wings3D and Polaris's tutorial to work... tomorrow.
lol, were the colors supposed to be like that?
None.
It's actually supposed to look quite conservative, with very plain colours.
There's something I'd like to bring up. It's about max image sizes. Was the max at 512x512? In case it was, then never mind. If it was much smaller, then WTH?
I'm at 400x300, by the way.

PCX is a vexing format because many default image viewers cannot process them. In order for me to see your files, I'd need to download them and open them in ImageReady. Not a very smooth or convenient routine. If you're wanting feedback, uploading JPGs would be far less of a hassle for everyone else.

Or you can just use IrfranView which has basically no loading time if that's what annoys you.
fuck you all
IrfanView automatically loads pcx files from the interblag with my setup. ;o
It looks like you forgot to put it into SC's palette. The easy way is to open an image that already has SC's palette in mspaint and just paste yours on top and Save [As].
I think I was told that the product of the width and height of the image areas for each frame must be less than 65536... But the easy way to say it is that the max is 255x255.Edit:
Image Header
Struct Size: 8 bytes
* Byte - difference from maximum width (?) [I'm assuming this is the offset of the image from the grp image size, but it is unimportant to the question.]
* Byte - difference from maximum height (?)
* Byte - width (in pixels)
* Byte - height (in pixels)
* Long - offset to Line Offsets: the number of bytes from the beginning of the file to the offset for each line.
So the max width of each image (not counting the black space around the image) can be 255x255 max.

That looks like a palette problem....
Extract a BMP frame from a Starcraft Grp (unit preferred), and open it with IrfanView. Extract and save the palette from that picture.
Then open the frames of your unit and give to each one the SC palette. You will need to change the colors of the pictures after that. Quite slow process.
None.
It's easier just to paste the image on top. A decent editor (mspaint) should automatically find the closest color match.

They don't (maybe Photoshop does.... but i can't use it
)
They "mutate" the palette. I've tried with many editors (Paint.NET, Paint, and another enhanced Paints) and they change the palettes to the colors the picture has every time you save them. The comprobation was done looking at the palette with IrfanView. And some editors don't even count if the BMP is 8BPP they change them to 24BPP.
Maybe every other editor do as yo say, however.....
None.
I've never had problems with MSPaint, except when I'm doing weird things for which I
should use a
dedicated palette editor. And I still maintain that Paint.NET sucks anyways. =P
Also, I'm fairly confident that Photoshop should be able to do that. Fairly certain. And GIMP should be able to handle it also. GraphicsGale, maybe; I only use it for its animation support, and a few non-palette-intensive functions, for the most part.

MSPaint
will never change the palette unless you change what type of image it is (such as 256 colors to 16 colors.) Even when you invert colors it negates the reference, not the palette (something I wish other editors did >:O).
