How would that solve his problems at all? It would [i]prevent[/i] the problem if his CD still was in one piece.

Ahh! My eyes! Voy, I feel your pain. My BW disk did the same thing a couple of years ago. Good thing I had a backup. Mine was smaller pieces though. I had to take the entire drive apart down to taking the laser out to get the last pieces. Although up until I stopped using the drive at the end of last August, I still was able to get flecks of the label to shake out every so often, which is to say at least after at least a year I was still dealing with the cd explosion. Bad stuff...
