I'm not sure if I'm counting wrong or something. But according to the Old New Wiki there are 64 outcomes for 6 switches. But I can only find like 40+. I read somewhere else there are 64 outcomes for 8 switches. What's going on?? I know how to use them etc. I just need to know if I can really get 64 outcomes from 6 switches or if I need 8. I have all 6 written on paper in front of me and can't seem to figure out how to get 64 outcomes from 6. Maybe it is 8.. Someone help me please. ^^

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I'd trust the math on it:
Quote
This method will allow you to create a random number within the range of zero to some power of 2.
1 Switch: 2 Outcomes
2 Switches: 4 Outcomes
3 Switches: 8 Outcomes
4 Switches: 16 Outcomes
5 Switches: 32 Outcomes
6 Switches: 64 Outcomes
7 Switches: 128 Outcomes
8 Switches: 256 Outcomes
Basically the number of outcomes is 2x, where x=the number of switches.

Using a death counter (or set of death counters) might be easier than doing all those switches, though.

👻 👾 👽 💪

There are 64 outcomes of 6 switches (26), and 256 outcomes for 8 switches (28).

The easiest way to find switches is to count them like binary, where each digit is one switch. From left to right: switch 1, switch 2, switch 3, switch 4, switch 5, switch 6. '0' means switch is cleared, '1' means switch is set.
If you don't know how to count in binary, it's just like counting normally... just skip all digits that are 2 through 9.
Here is all 64 possible combinations:
Code
000000 - 1
000001 - 2
000010 - 3
