You have to visit someone to know what they look like, so you will explicitly be told whether or not you see the person. Excluding the people whom you know at the beginning of the game, everyone else is alien to you.

Kira receives everything other investigators do. Think of the Kira role as an additional role on top of the normal one.
Investigation members know who each other are, and which pseudonym is L and W. Other civilians, including N, M, etc. don't.
