(1994) Development Begins
)1995) Dragoon, and maybe Ghosts?
(1996) Scouts, Dragoons, Goliaths... taking shape...
(1997) Release of Starcraft 1.. Yippee!

Did you know that in the original Starcraft 1 - you could enter a cheat-code "operation cwal" which would reduce the building and research time of all your units, structures and upgrades by 500%? Well, operation cwal was a community that formed in semi-protest against Blizzard taking so long to perfect Starcraft 1. Operation Can't Wait Any Longer. In Starcraft 2... the marine epicly opens the show with 'Hell... it's about time'...

The Reaver uesd to be called the Trilobyte in alpha builds of Starcraft 1. The Reaver was going to be featured in Starcraft 2 multiplayer, but was replaced by the Colossus at the last minute. There were rumours that you could control the Reaver in the Wings of Liberty campaign - but this seems to have been proved untrue. Since you were pretty limited to Zealots, Stalkers, Collosi, Probes and Zeratul.

The Protoss Stargate was going to be called the Nexus! Imagine that.

The Third Screenshot clearly shows a Terran air unit... but it is named the Phoenix... Maybe the current Protoss Phoenix in Starcraft 2 is the final product of a brain-fart in the mid 1990's?

The Confederacy in Starcraft 1 had a clandestine secret police called Nova Squadron.

Terran Marines were called Marauders in the Starcraft 1 Alpha Build...

Sammuro is a fruit from Aiur. I doubt it will be included in Auir Chef...

Starcraft 1 had three damage types: Explosive, Normal and Concussive.

Despite being the most popular map... ever... Big Game Hunters did not make it into Starcraft 2.

There's a thread out somewhere on SEN. It at least posted the link of the source, which contained much more information. :P

@OP: "Pheonix" was the Wraith's pre-release name, which anyone who's used the BW Sound Extractor knows. :P

Protoss Observer used to be called Witness, and internally, Infested Terrans were known as Bug Guys.

Can anyone confirm this? I remember a long time hearing or reading what I guess would have been a rumor at the time. That In one of the Diablo cinematic you can see a cloaked object in the bg during some scene and they said that it' was an observer and I forgot what they said to prove it but I'm just wondering. Maybe I dreamed that up. Protoss can travel through dimensions right? Or Maybe all Blizzard universe are connected but jsut really far away from each other? What humans call magic terrans call psi? Except, you know, the observer sound is very distinct and, other than the addition of some of the observer's sound effects and filters, is exactly the same as:

Hm, StarCraft: First contact looks familiar.
Is it a remake of a campaign cinematic or have I just seen this fan project somewhere else before?

It was posted here a while ago I think, and it does remind me of an SC/BW cinematic (at least back then).

In the credits it says 2009.

I realize it's not the original video in sc/bw. I asked if it may be a remake (or independent fan project).

Nov 4 2010, 1:23 pm MadZombie Post #20

99.96% it's independent fan video. It would have been better if it was blizzard.
