Stuck up is a matter of opinion. I find were being honest about the quality content we produce compared to other sites, not just SEN by the way.

Actually neither Maplantis nor SEN were mod forums by default. Modding crept into both sites. SEN's early days in fact were almost anti-mod.
I can't speak for Clan[MM], but they definitely have had a lot to do w/ the resurgence of activity that was/is flourishing at Maplantis. Coupled w/a kickass database and a general no-nonsense forum, its no wonder that Maplantis has developed into the site where ppl go to discuss SCraft modding/mapping. Ya, Maplantis has their "mafia" and "null garbage" forums as well, but Tau has done well in keeping the "misc" stuff to a minimum. What appears to be missing most here at the new SEN, is however just that. Alot of spam and the overall missing quality of content. ...and a webmaster that seems to have lost interest disappearing for lengthy intervals.
What now? Maplantis has been "broken" for awhile now and I see more and more ppl migrating back here but somewhat reluctantly. How they are treated means a lot if this site wants to regenerate the enthusiasm that Maplantis has. SEN didn't do well in it's 2nd reincarnation. Will it ever be the greatness it was? How much more is left to "push" to the limit? Everything "mapping" seems discovered/and pushed. I think a synthesis of mapping and modding is about the only fresh thing that remains. Very few mods incorporate custom UMS maps/triggers. The recent modding tools such as Firegraft, DatEdit, BinEdit, SFlare's GRPEditor, offer stability and make modding so easy and avoid all the frustrations that once were. Maybe that's the ticket to a rejuvenated Community? BIGGER projects... go deep!

I'm really just weathering the storm till SC2 comes out and we have other things to do besides arguing about websites. While you all have been arguing in the past year or so, I've gotten intimate with Company of Heroes, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Crysis, Supreme Commander, Civilization 4, Battlefield 2, Lord of the Rings Online... that list continues on for some time. The smart thing to do here is to not reply (I won't after this, so you don't have to criticize me for being a hypocrite). After having perused dozens of these threads, it's fairly safe to claim that nobody gives a flying hoot, and nobody is going to change their mind, so why bother bickering? Unless you're an old man and bickering for the sake of sounding like a douche is fun to you, then please find something better to do.

Finally I would say it is better to have more then one starcraft community because,you have the mature site and the fun yet immature site.Also you got all the 3rd party sites.

This site gave me help when I was a wee mapper, and is still helping me greatly today.
I've found nothing wrong with the mapping sections, and I don't need a wiki or database. The regular forum members here are always on hand to answer my questions, usually a lot better than a wiki will.
Plus, who doesn't love the mineral system

The reason why Clan (U) went to Maplantis I think,is because Legacy was leader then and decided it would be good for maplantis and (U).(ofcourse don't quote me on that I am probably wrong)
