Assuming that you meant 'went,' not 'weren't' or something in your first line... I said to 'encourage' such a relation, not, "make it suddenly appear through singular, personal efforts." Important though one's community status may be, it's not the overrulling factor in the success of a contest. Which isn't to say that I disagree with your opinion that it'd fall flat - without popularity, one can only rely on a well-designed and properly advertised event, which most people, including myself, can't do. And more on clarification of my previous post, I wasn't talking about a single, specific event. I said that it's the kind of thing that should be engaged in. Hostilities don't as much tend to arise when competitions are relatively small or regular social activities/productivity enhancers, rather than bragging-shows. I know that most competitions fall flat on their faces. But having the kind of community where one could get off the ground once in a while would likely mean having a relatively healthy community. And lastly, I was speaking of an idealized situation. Having a community that's 'healthy' by the measures I referred to in this and my last post isn't necessarily what has to be created, merely what's tried for. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am gooey...

I use B.net all the time, thanks, and haven't been seeing the SEN versus Maplantis argument at all. I'm insulting you on the basis of your intelligence? I'm sorry, because that's not what I'm trying to do. I called you arrogant because you repeatedly assumed that you were correct, and repeatedly exhaggerated situations to get your point across. You're still doing it, "You don't see it all obviously.". You assume that I'm missing something because you disagree with me. On the subject of arrogance of Maplantis, I use the site a lot, and haven't seen any of this "Viva la Maplantis" you speak of. I didn't misquote you, unless SEN's quote feature randomly changes words and I didn't notice. Again, you're insulting me personally rather then rebutting my point. I didn't attack you. This isn't hatred I'm showed, it's debating, I rebutted your points, and you responded by attacking me, and accusing me of attacking you! Moose wasn't 'laying down some law', he was rebutting some of my points, which I can respect. "Laying down some law" is what Moose reserves for when people really start attacking each other. It's not 'refuge', it's more one of the places we look to see if any news of Maplantis has come up. I don't know about other people, but I checked in plenty of sites which Yoshi/Tau/Mike uses to see if there was news. Although I am grateful to Moose for portal-ising updates for people. I was trying to remain neutral, because that's a very objective thing to comment on, and obviously failed at it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
