Edit: The best way to protect yourself is to just conduct yourself in a positive manner on Battle.net. That goes for more than just me, Jiggie, etc but treat everyone with respect, and do not do things like drophack people for no reason. If you follow that guideline your CDKey will be safe.
Isn't this double standard? From my experience, your sort set people up by either antagonizing them or testing whether they will follow your warning or recommendation and if they "defy" throw in the punishment. Being "respectful" is not the same as being manipulatable or tolerant.
I strongly suspect it's you or one of your clients who is stalking me on both SC1 bnet and SC2 bnet. I've complained in forums before, but I was alone. Apparently people have become aware of this problem only recently. (
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12009/) (
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12924/)In sc1, I am unable to host. What happens is this: 2 bots join (able to come under control of hacker anytime). 1 bot downloads the map. Once the map is downloaded, I suppose it is entered into a blacklisting program, preventing people from joining it again. If I boot the bot downloading the map by open/close slot, the other bot prevents people from joining and leaves. Regardless, after leaving my game, these bots join another game filled with bots, usually rpg no one plays, starts game, and deactivates, so the bot would look like a real player. All this is automated. If I try to follow the bot to the game, I get booted or disconnected.
Frequently the bots insist on going in rude manner like spaming "go.. go.. go... go. go. go.." They set me up, recommending a 3-player or 4-player/2v2 game. If I don’t follow the suggestion, they who are ever so virtuous play god and let me face the consequence of disobeying, which is that one by one bots leave, the game becomes empty, and no one else joins, even if I were to wait 5+ minutes (after 10 minutes or so, a bot joins either to refresh game on blacklist or disconnect me from bnet). If I were to wait for dl and start, it would be pointless because I’d allow the bots to dl the map, allowing its data to enter blacklist program, and the bots are either controlled by one person putting the effort to create the illusion of several players or automated by AI (usually for simpler maps)
I can boot but not ban players from my games because if I do they can use it against me, so I can’t host and bots don’t even need to appear. Chatting also makes me vulnerable. There’s also a way for them to disconnect me from bnet whenever, but I forgot what I’d need to do to trigger that.
All this is not without my having figured out how to respond (
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12924/), but I’m still not satisfied because I can’t host my maps. The “pros” want to decide what maps are allowed to be played on bnet. They usually like maps with exploitable cheats or imbalances & want to defend/justify them & call others who don’t know about them noobs. So they hate it when another map that’s fair and balanced comes around and serves as a direct litmus test contrasting and critiquing the faults and flaws of their favorite maps.
This is why the same maps that are like 2 years old are still being played. Sometimes they’re played just to make a point about their popularity and the fact that they’re the best maps ever (yea!). They’ve put themselves in this situation because they blacklisted other maps they didn’t like, so only maps that are left are their fave old maps. Why play old maps, if they’re old? If they don’t like other new maps, they shouldn’t touch them rather than preventing others from playing them. (Indeed they’re a snobby bunch that like rubbing their nose on everyone else’s business…)
In Sc2, I kept the same username as I did in sc1. So the same sort (I keep seeing wolf and eric, frost, etc. as well as killer2121’s fave name words like dark, assassin, etc.) decided to harass me so everytime I join a custom game, a bot joins and causes any trouble it wishes as it were appropriate for that day’s mood and weather. It can cause a uber long wait screen, uber lagginess, or simply leave game when it starts (denying a full-house game). They tried to give me impression it’s due to some fault by Blizzard that always someone has to leave game, but I knew something was off so I started leaving at last minute before full-house and joining again, then leaving last minute, and joining again, enough times. Sometimes I saw bots keep recycling (cuz they ran out of bots) and complaining why I keep leaving, although I try leaving before full house so they should have no problem staying in their games… Surely enough when I’ve managed to fend off the bots, nothing went wrong. People played better (maybe cuz they were not bots… maybe im wrong on this) or at least no lag, no one leaving ,etc.
I’m not sure why they’d try to harass me on sc2. I haven’t even made any custom maps on sc2 that would allow them to make up any good reasons to stalk me. I think it has to do with the fact that I kept my user name from sc1. Someone (probably killer2121) made a huge angry and terrifyingly unsettling fuss about me stop using my user name cuz it had a clan initial that was disbanded. Again this is another example of his sort setting me up with a request and showing that there is consequences when I don’t follow through. Whatever. Im going to keep my username for SC3, SC4, ad infinitum.
So they (probably you too) are **ally retarded. They already made up their minds about who they want to attack. So if you’re the target it doesn’t matter what you do. They will squeeze their brains out to make up a good reason to be offended, set you up for a test, and deal the punitive card of consequence. Oh they should be feared! (“respect” my ***) Cuz they’re backed by consequence… like natural disaster.
Frost and his bunch try to portray themselves as cool-headed and cool bunch who do not waste time going after others. But in my experience that wasn’t true. They had to continually track me and gather information for almost a year to prepare their hacks. Now they probably have my IP address down and also my CD key (different IP address doesn’t help). They tried to friend me and ask where I live, etc. (for IP address) and ask me to join channels and type away to my heart’s content (as mentioned previously, chatting makes me vulnerable… not sure how) etc… That way, when they “test” me, and I continued to defy, they would be in the position to up the ante with worse consequences/hacks, so they’d always have the last card and the last hit.
The fact that they hack is proof of their immaturity. They try to impose on everyone this retarded notion that “if you don’t hack” (back) and respect everyone then you should be fine. They’re in no position to say that when they’re the hackers. Just in case you hit back, they’ve prepped bigger arsenals, so they always can hit back with something bigger, up the ante, and have the last hit.
The most revealing point is that if you were to simple equip yourself with ANTIHACK they'd hack you back more severely (i.e. rather than dropping, they'd crash sc). Yea rite everyone don't hack and respect othres, and your cd key is safe. Then they tell you that you're the "immature" or "stupid" one (not them) cuz u keep defying them and dealing with their hacks but oviously this is a flawed reasoning hiding the fact that they made this arrangement, and they'd always find something else to blame.
So it’s funny to see how truth is so distorted in this forum. The hacker has become synonymous with virtue (preaching “respect”) and “cool”. The hacked victims are somehow stupid or disrespectful. But everyone should recognize the contradictory nature of these two positions/identities. The hacker always has the leisure to behave in cool-headed manner because he can hack. But in order to hack the hacker had to be snobbish, bullish, narrow-minded, opinionated and involved enough to want something to back his insults and bigotry.
