We need to have one.
A purging of all of these inactive, banned, copied, useless members.
The stats on the site say we have 5,586 members in total, with about 100-200 unique member visits per day it seems... so...
Why are we clinging on to these 5,000+ members?
On page 1 of the Members list, 10 of the 33 members haven't been here in over a year.
Page 2: 11
Page 3: 16
Page 4: 15
Page 5: 8
Page 46: 27
Page 74: 28
Page 94 (mid point of 187 pages): 28
Page 124: 27
Page 140: 25
Most of the ones counted on those pages are from the 2007 and 2008 areas as their last login/activity on this site... (Page 46 is a great example...)

Relatively ancient and inactive
Members aren't made to be deleted, because of the way SEN handles user IDs.

Is there a reason not to keep them?
This has been brought up many times before, and we have yet to hear a good reason why the members list should be purged. The amount of members listed on the site have no affect on you whatsoever.
Give me a good reason why we should delete inactive accounts.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
There were enough people who came back after a few years of inactivity.
Won't be deleted. SEN never deletes something. lol

"I want a lower ID number".
That's the only thing I can come up with.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
There
may be one or two legacy routines from eons past that somehow run slower with more members, but I really can't think of any off the top of my head.
Purging is annoying. MMOs do it because the data reserved for each account takes up sizable space, but for a forum? Nah.

My ID is 246. I'm already pretty low.
It was merely a suggestion, but if everyone doesn't wish it, then that's that.
No, it's not a necessary thing, I just think it would make the place seem a bit cleaner is all.
It feels like a falsified large community here. Sure, hundreds come here still, but thousands?
And as for it being a forum, most forums don't charge you fake money to have the basic functions of one.
This is the only forum I've gone to that's based on this style of forum, that's taken away things like signatures and titles.
But alas, it was just a suggestion because I noticed the large number of supposed members that exist on this site, and seeing members inactive for 3 years is quite a while.

This I must agree with. Why is "disable fun" not implemented?

Seconded. This has always been a feature of the mineral system and should have been done before or at least shortly after reimplenting the minerals.
But well it's a symptom of how things are done here: Quickly implement
something just so it is there and try to finish it along the way. Instead of implementing finished systems only and fix a bug or two afterwards. That's what I'm preaching all the time in the Staff Lounge but unfortunately I'm ignored. Pretty much gave up about it.
That has nothing to do with this topic, but I'll address it anyway. Miscellaneous was created for all those mapmaking questions that don't have to do with the data editor, modelling, terrain, or triggers. Though some threads in that forum can fit in the other four Assistance forums, others don't (and certainly don't fit in SC2 General Discussion, since that's not a forum to discuss mapmaking). After skimming over the forum threads it seems like it would be a better idea to just move most of the topics to the other Assistance forums. There are a few topics like
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12076/ ,
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12121/ ,
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12098/ ,
http://www.staredit.net/topic/12014/ ,
http://www.staredit.net/topic/11646/ ,
http://www.staredit.net/topic/11086/ , and
http://www.staredit.net/topic/11206/ which don't exactly fit in the other forums, though, and that's why we just kept Miscellaneous open. Also that's where all the tutorials seem to have ended up, despite us wanting to use the Wiki.

Thirded, though im sure Dev has to work on mountain loads of other SEN related stuff. Haven't exactly recieved feedback about why it hasnt been implemented. For now we can just wait for Dev to finish his work before we ask for anything else.

Purging those who don't contribute is a vastly different idea than just purging those who no longer exist in this area of the internet world.
