I personally dislike my last batch. Can we atleast have a vote? It's the first time I've ever noticed if a person is online or offline from the brightness. It attracted my eyes.

Yeah, I like those latest ones too. They're plain and simple. No need for them to be shiny and obnoxious.

The fact that it attracts your attention is a bad thing. It's distracting. I should only know if someone if offline or online if I want to know and consciously look there. My eyes shouldn't be drawn to the stupid offline/online buttons all the time when I don't even care if the member is on or off.
None.
Use the new ones for the Epic skin at least.

That is exactly what I want. It is my personal preference after all.

@poison:
Or a 1px transparent PNG, say, black with 70% alpha, could be used.
Fact, I'd recommend that -- the utility nav (technical term for the "Welcome" panel) has text and is thus variable in content, so a fixed-size non-tileable background is potentially unreliable/buggy.
I just tested how it would look by using Firebug to set that nav to background:rgba(0,0,0,.7) and it looks pretty good when some extra padding is added and the box is actually sized properly (meaning not at all -- let its contents determine its height, Dev).

A couple skins use that technique as well. It works well.

the contact/online/offline images should be a 14x14 (or 20x20, I suppose) image with text beside of them, so the color of the text can be changed easily to fit the skin. Again, I can make apngs of every map revealer color. Likewise, I can make apngs of any building in SC of every color for the online/offline, if we want to make online/offline/contact similar throughout the skins.
Sorry to dig up an old post, but my question is, why would you make them apngs? They're not yet fully supported by all browsers, they take up more space than a GIF, and especially when it comes to StarCraft, you're using a format meant for millions of colors for a 256 color game? GIF seems like it has it covered.

All browsers support pngs. If you use a browser which does not have apng support, it will just show the first image. Pngs support 8 bit alpha. I think that blocky edges are terrible ugly, and I like to have an alpha barrier there on resized images. apngs take up less space than an agif (my avatar is semi-related) since png uses a better compression algorithm. The only time a gif will use less than a png is on very small images (like a 1 pixel gif is 43 bytes, whereas a png is 68).

Too bad the point of my signature is to make people see it. It's called an advertisement. Are you saying the ONLINE BUTTONS ARE ADVERTISEMENTS?
None.
IMO the current Online/Offline and Contact buttons look well. I just would perfer them be
a bit closer without that huge gap in the middle.

I imagine myself the main and the only point of the nickname, the avatar and the signature being in representing your
personality, making people easily
recognize you in forums. I don't support people changing signatures and especially nicknames and avatars very often. I believe the forum to be much cleaner if more people were separating my opinion. I do appreciate your work on signatures very high, IMO signatures made all in one style for the most active forum members help keep forums nice looking, help SEN
to have a personality. I do also realize people want to have advertisements for their work. I only wish there was a place for that kind of stuff in the profile or somewhere else...
