Why can't it go right next to site index or TOS at the bottom of the forum index?

It's so annoying having to click sections to see if it has any new posts. Oh well.

When replying (on the Reply page, not with Fast Reply), the topic name in the breadcrumb menu should be a link. Makes no sense for it not to be, and it'd be more convenient that way. Along a similar vein, the topic name should be shown as a link in the breadcrumb menu when editing a post, and the "Previous posts in reverse order. Click here to show." feature should be available when editing.

Ahli, but screw that report thing. Just contact a gmod to reset the counter to zero. It's annoying and I thought I've fixed that. Sorry.

"(italic members are currently writing a reply)" not working -- it is but some sessions are too old to use this afaik. I think I would have to kill all sessions saved then it would work 100% but I won't. Only IP is allowed to do so ;D

Show last posts while editing is a bit more complicated ;S I'll take a look later.

Blueeditor, I made that topic subscribing for that reason but we yet removed it because of long site loading. Will add a limit later on and bring it back online.

EDIT: Added: whene diting a post, the submit button now is labeled as "Edit" instead of "Post"

For the case you wondered why I've been lazy: worked for school and some special tasks for IP such as a bit help with the map night chat, skins for v6, wiki skin, another wiki skin, .........
Just decided to finally do something here again, to avoid having thousands of tasks when I can get back completly.

You might know this already but the drop-down's border is way different then the button's border. I've also never liked gaudy image heavy borders, but I know many people do, so good work.

It's better than the last skin like that I saw.... but there's no way I'm going to use that.

If you send PMs to multiple people, it should automatically reply to all when you hit reply. Sortof like a conference PM. The Reply to All isn't obvious enough and no one uses it

Awesome but a bit wasteful. A nav and fancy banner should not take up that much screen real estate. Generally, you want as much content above the fold as possible.

I think that that skin isn't among the skin links at the bottom of the page. I think you noticed that those links skipped the 5 ID, and tried that ID for the hell of it. I think that's pretty damn clever.

The screenshot has the nav positioned a bit more appealingly... However,

• The entire top banner is still way too fricking huge. Takes up nearly half of the content area in my browser -- Firefox with small buttons, no bookmarks toolbar, and no auxiliary toolbars. Most of the site is below the fold -- something that, in terms of usability and holding a new user's attention, is highly undesirable.
  
• I love how the Marine is positioned directly behind the Community link, in the first screenshot. It'd be neat if all the nav items had little background effects like that.
  
• In the preview for skin #5... The navbar's hover JS fails. Luckily, Suckerfish Dropdowns provide an excellent pure-CSS replacement. In fact, they're even easier to implement than that article describes -- the article was written in 2003, and none of the IE workarounds (including the JS provided in that article) should be necessary.

True. My third bullet point applies to the v5 preview (skin ID 5, the link posted by Blu). My first two bullet points are constructive criticism and an idea, respectively, that apply entirely to the skin itself, regardless of site version.

EDIT: If you haven't been keeping up with a topic, chances are, the last two (or more) pages of posts are unread. Go to the unread posts, however, and you go to the earliest unread page. Don't know if others have this problem, but I often find myself "missing" the later pages of posts. I don't glance at the page number links when I reach the bottom... Perhaps a more obvious indicator could be added? (Maybe a page-wide box like "There are more unread posts in later pages of this topic." or something, nestled between the last post and the page number links.)

BUMP: Doubt this'll make it into v5 due to all the work required, but for v6, it'd be nice if title bars followed this format:
