As Voy said, Pokemon probably takes the cake. Otherwise, one of those generic D&D universes, like the Forgotten Realms (with games Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and the like under its belt). Well, if I get to choose who I am. The vast majority of people live very dull lives.
You'd get bored eventually. With pokemon, hey, you can play with them, take over the world with them, and even molest them!

In Forgotten Realms, if you pick some nice archmagey character, you can take different races as pets, take over the world, or, again, molest them. And it's cooler than pokemon, when you're blasting people with lightning bolts and inventing spells like a scientist.
