Awww, that woulda been so nice for all terrainers
Anyways
It seems like I will not have the time to work on the brush this week-end... would you mind if I'd ask you not to release a non-beta official version until this is done ?
None.
EDIT: Extra -> Can you detect mouse's position because being able to navigate through the map only by moving the mouse on the edge of the screen would really rock
Had you suggested this three years earlier, and had I found out about it, I would have supported you.
Now: this function would be annoying, especially if it's at the speed of StarCraft's default mouse movement speed. Remember that situation you'd get in where you try to scroll a little bit and it ends up scrolling down to the bottom of the map? Nothx.
Also:
there is something really strange I just occured today:
Imagine this situation:
-> you got a pylon right in your viewable part of the map and place a nydus after it. Now the psi-power-area (blue cycle) is displayed as well, but when you place the exit of the current nydus (by just playing the next nydus channel) the psi-aura got duplicated (there are two stacked then)
Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.
Um what crash bug? And have you tried renaming the backup DB (In case it is too large)
I had tried already but doesn't work.
And my is 1.00 MB small and I had 1 GB ones in older versions of the editor and it doesn't crash.
The is crash-log Attached to the post.

The text on that image seems a little plain, perhaps some texture/gradient would add to it a bit.

Pronogo's the thing.
I agree with Falk, though

If you could make it blend better with the background you're slapping it over, that'd be perfect.

New Bug:
The condition
"Current Player has suffered exactly 2 deaths of Terran Marine"
automatically converts to
"Memory at Death Table + 13 is exactly 2"
Me no likey.
None.
That's not a new bug. It has been reported atleast once. You'll just have to deal with it. If your not trying to detect the deaths of marine, you can change the unit first to bypass this bug.
None.
- when using the deaths condition, if you change player first, it morphs into the memory condition sometimes, even when selecting a normal player like current player or player 2.
whoops you're right. This particular case always morphs though, even if I put in all the parameters besides player first, then choose current player it still morphs.

It looks trashy. The background is way too generic considering the popularity of that scene. The text doesn't blend in. There's too much image space. We just need to see the logo, and the author of the program. I can't tell if it's supposed to be a failed splash screen or a signature.
Wow, mixed results much?
I didn't think SI wanted his name on it, because he hasn't put it on the original SCMD2 screen, and I know the logo doesn't blend in. I might make a new logo to match the background image, and I'll definately swap colors on the text. Couldn't hurt to just hand-draw and scan text and color it in GIMP, I suppose.
But thanks for the feedback. I made it in about five minutes, only because I had to find the image for SCF and the background.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm pretty brutal at criticizing others' works, so don't take it personally.
I mentioned this on the starforge board.
There's plenty of unused bits in trigger conditions. By setting this bit, it would be pretty easy for SCMDraft (or any other editor) to read it as a completely different condition, ie... memory vs deaths.
When you save it, you can have a final save option which removes the bit for compression. I'm not sure if SC will play the map with the bit activated, but in any case, it would be an idea to fix the problem.
I'd pass on the starcraft type scrolling in favor of a pdf type scrolling, but when it comes down to it, nothing is broken yet.
As for a splash screen, I'd use some variation of this:
or any other actual starcraft graphics. That's just me, though.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Sounds alright, but I'll probably stick with what I'm best at; working with preset images and text.
Alright, guys. I'm gonna go work some more on my map series, but before I go, here's a lil' present...
I think I did much better on this one. I did the text for SI myself and found both the new pics on the intarwebz. Rate and comment, kthxbai.
(Also, I can't seem to find a more fitting image than that one. I'll keep looking. I've been thinking about cropping a good part of the right side off, so there's less image space. What to do, what to do.)
Is the actual version bug-free ?
Does it features a working "Check for Updates" ?

Oh, My, Gawd. I JUST realized that Check for Updates hasn't worked ever.
