The sword and the faith

I know some colors vary by tileset. Should probably specify which you're looking to use them on.

Well I did an SEN search and found farty's program in one of the posts

http://www.staredit.net/files/464/

I'm looking for shades of red and blue so I can make red and blue teams of 3 player each.

Blue
Player 2 Blue
Player 3 Teal
Player 4 Purple
Player 9 Green
Player 12 Neutral Blue

Red
Player 1 Red
Player 5 Orange
Player 6 Brown
Player 8 Yellow
Player 10/11 Yellowish

If you don't like the default 12 colours, extended colours would work, but lower the quality of your map. Different colours for the game and minimap are not good.

I won't play your map if you use extended colours.

I don't like extended colors anyway. There's no matching display text color for them and I like matching the player's actions to their text color.

Just here for the activity... well not really

While I agree with extended colors sucking, I'll be constructive.

46 is a green/teal mix, and blue minimap
48 is a red/tan mix, but black minimap
49 is a wicked red-black-brown combo, black minimap
50 is also wicked, but with red-white, black minimap
59 is teal-blue-brown-tan-whatever, black minimap
60 ditto with 59
126 is teal.

(note: these are found with farty's tool BUT i bumped them up one index number so you won't get confused. ex. when it saids 126 it's really index 125)

yeah i agree with you, i like regular colors better, but i dont hate extended colors so much that i wont play the map. when i see extended colors, i immediately think that it might be a quality worthwile game because most likely the creator has good knowledge of map making.

Extended colors, proof the maker used a better map designer. I appreciate them to their fullest and most of my favorite maps use them. (DOTD City 2.0.0 being one of them ;o AND IM LOOKING FOR IT AGAIN TOO)

The only extended colors worth anything are in the 130s, since they're all black(ish).

There's a few interesting ones which have a name color associated with them. Those are the few I'd ever use. I don't particularly like having 2 cyan players in their name color.

All it really shows is that the player has a third-party editor, that's about it, it doesn't show that they're new, like Heinermann is saying, and it doesn't show that they're skilled either.

What if someone does an amazing job of the map and uses extended colors appropriately so that it looks good and suites everything else?
