I'm looking for a program to open my screenshots from starcraft, I had one on my old computer but I've forgotten what it was called, can anyone point me to a program so that I can switch my screenshots over to an image view?

Try GIMP it's a free image editing program that has a lot of features equal to photoshop. If GIMP doesn't work try paint shop pro too it has a free trial for 30 days. Hope I could help. =]

For general image viewing and quick cropping/exporting/pasting I use irfanview (can open almost all of the image types GIMP can, along with flash and video if you so choose), if I need to edit the image I'll open it in GIMP.
EDIT: Irfanview also has the same functionality as MS Paint in regards to editing, aside from the effect scripts that come with it and any plugins you install for it (there are a lot available).

I use irfanview. It opens a lot faster than gimp, and is extremely useful for fast, easy conversion. It also has a really nice PNGout plugin that exports .png files with very small sizes.
If you use hacks, many of the main ones automatically output it as a BMP image instead.

And its easy to add text and resize images with easy to memorise hotkeys

Hitting edit on ACDSee opens PS8, which is pretty neat.
