I'm not that insulted. WoW can be fun at times, it's the sheer repetitivity that makes me not want to play it.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Wow's okay, but it definitely doesn't have the balancing of SC. SC is just an all-around completed, equal, game, while WoW keeps morphing in one direction and the other while gameplay stays essentially the same.

Not that it isn't addicting as hell.

The only one of those games that belonged on that list is SC, as all the other have sequels that improve upon them, and WoW sucks.

doom and myst deserve being on that list but starcraft should be much higher and doom should be lower =/

I saw this posted over at TL.net. I'll say here what I said there.

That magazine sucks.

Uhh... Who has ever played M.U.L.E.? I doubt a game from the 1980's deserves to be in the top ten anything.

That is absolute garbage, World of Warcraft is terrible. Starcraft is timeless, and WoW is most definitely isn't; 30 years from now no one would go back to play Warcraft since the only thing that keeps it together is the social aspect, the gameplay is one of the most monotonous ever conceived. At that time there will be newer more elaborate and popular MMO's to take its place.

30 years from now I'd easily go back and play a few good nostalgic games of SC against my brothers and have a good time. There are somethings about Starcraft that nothing could ever replace, not even SC2.

Its honestly valid though, "Role" playing game. As long as you play a role its a RPG. We need a new name for Character building, quest taking, games.

How about the new and improved C.B.Q.T.G. tag?

Even had I not seen the list, I could've said the magazine loses a lot of credibility right there. ;o

I got it! How about RPG. Its already used for such games, it describes what you do in the game, and only idiots would use it to describe a game not associated with the RPG genre.

That would just cause confusion. Why have the same label for two different definitions.:hurr:
