EUD map limit / sprite limit

Is there any way to extend the map limit / sprite limit on EUD maps? it's so easy to hit the limit, causing units and buildings not to fire.
I am using scmdraft 2 + eud editor 3.

Cartography Artisan

At present EUD maps are locked to the old limits; also it's more common to hit the "weapon limit" for firelag than the sprite or unit limit.

Okey thank you, so the weapon limit of only 100 must be what is so easily being hit.
Does it matter what kind of unit/weapon? would it be better to have weapons that fire slowly/more rarely, or would it be better to use weapons without projectile sprite(s)?
It seems to me that lurkers, cannons, turrets hit this limit more easily than hydras, marines, sunkens f.ex, i am not sure if there is a chart available that could be helpful determining how many of each kind of unit players should be allowed to have in combat at the same time?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

What matters when determining how much a unit contributes to weapon sprite limit is how long the projectile is in the air or its hit effect is visible. So slow moving missiles with multiple projectiles are worst. That would be goliaths aa or most notably the valkyrie (which has a special limit of 80 because it's so bad). Slow firing fast flying projectiles are more ideal. Examples are tanks or guardians. Melee units are a non-factor because their attack is part of the unit animation (e.g. zerglings or zealots).
However, once you hit the limit, fast firing units like stimmed marines have an advantage over slow firing ones like lurkers.

That said a chart to show this for every unit doesn't exist, but using these guidelines you should get a pretty good idea how it goes. If you're unsure about how the attack plays out you can get information from datedit and the iscripts.

Spell casters dosent work neither on weapon limit they cast the spell but the effect and the damage dosent show. Like templars and Queen.

There is a way to increase the weapon limit using EUD's but not the unit limit so if You just need the weapon limit to be higher its possibel with euds. But I dont know the exackt eud trigger

This is exactly what i am looking for, if it's possible, i think eud editor 2 had a "unlimiter" plugin which may have done something like that, but eud editor 2 doesn't work with the new update of remastered, and i can't find something like that in eud editor 3.

And thank you nuderaider for the general guidelines, that should be useful.

Hey SWW, good to see you around, I've always liked you work :)

Which update of remastered are you referring to that renders EUD Editor 2 unusable? I'm thinking you mean the one in which the MPQs were taken out. I'm still not sure if unlimiter works with EUD Editor 2, but EUD Editor 2 as a general tool definitely still works for me. I just downloaded a copy of SCBW 1.16.1 and linked up the MPQs from that folder to EUD Editor 2, voila. Make sure you have the latest version of euddraft as well, I think when the string limit got updated, euddraft was updated as well to make it work with the new update.

I am honored you still remember me, i've made a couple new maps now that we got remastered graphics and EUD is re-enabled, it's really fun to play around with.

A recent update removed the mpq files, but yeah i guess i could download an older version somehow to get them back.
I've been using euddraft0.8.2.9, is this new repository genuine? https://github.com/armoha/euddraft/releases (latest version 0.8.9.9)

Sorry for the slow response, haven't checked here in a couple weeks. I can't speak to the legitimacy/illegitimacy of that source, I downloaded my version from here: http://www.staredit.net/topic/17572/ and I got an old copy of 1.16.1 SCBW from the modding forum I believe.

Howdy,

Long time Scmdraft mapmaker here - just starting euds now. Few questions:

1st (already addressed sorta) When TF will we be able to extend units!!??

Second, I cant seem to figure out how to remove unit firing sounds. Like with marines, I changed to burst lasers, but it still has the gauss rifle sound, as well as the laser sound - I want only laser.

Third, Is there any way to add multiple graphic effects for a units weapon shot? Like with tanks I want the Yamato gun shot, as well as the original siege splash animation. I can only seem to do one or the other...

Thanks - I make RISK maps mostly and I thought I'd finally try out the EUDs!

Kolokol -- Okay, are both of these games referencing something else here? If so, what are they both referencing?

Kolokol -- So I am looking at the custom campaign "Legacy of the Confederation". One of the missions has references such as "Doctor Halsey" and "Noble", but the campaign was made almost 10 years before Halo Reach.
