[Request] Autocast continuous restoration spell at location

Trying to create a location that permanently spawns medics restoration ability and it's effects. I'd even settle for placing a permanent medic in the location as long as she'd auto cast the restoration ability if an ally came to that part of the map. Any ideas how to do this? Im using ScmDraft right now

I'm unsure whether there is a method using EUDs. Currently, majority of abilities are non-castable or autocastable by units. The exception is Corsair Disruption Web and Arbiter Recall. These two were probably added in AI Scripts because Blizzard had them in the campaign maps but they didn't have usage for other stuff. You can "trick" certain spells to be casted but restoration is not one of them as far as I'm aware of (I have seen some CPUs use restoration before but it is usually on stuff like Lockdown)

Tricks I know of:
- Plague / Storm / Lockdown: Attack the Unit (Sometimes requires to be a certain distance away)
- Heal: Only ability that is autocasted
- Stasis: Regular Arbiter being attacked while having the energy to stasis. Must be attacked and it will stasis the unit striking it (and surrounding units)
- Cloak: Damage unit with the cloaking ability

Alternatively, there could possibly be a way to remove ailments on a unit with EUDs with a medic but I believe that requires Unit-IDs which can greatly complicates the map. (Such as requirement of preplaced units and disabling the triggers after said unit dies)

What are EUDs? Extended Unit Deaths: which is basically modifying the memory of SC1. To use them effectively, you often need another editor to navigate the stuff.

Here's how I accomplished self-restoration in EUD Editor 2:



The only thing I wasn't able to get to work correctly was setting corrosive acid spores to 0.. when I tried it always did wonky shit like set it to 999 which was really bad, so I ended up just not fussing with the spores. I did an all unit loop for each of the human players and nested this trigger within that loop. You also have to be sure to set the current player to whichever player you are running the loop for, like so:



It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. Especially if you're working with ground units that can't get acid spores anyway.

What did you do to clear the acid spores? Try setting the spore count and first timer to 1 and the other 8 timers to 0; that should be a safe way to clear it.

It's been a long time, so I can't remember perfectly, but I think I tried both setting acid spores to 0 and 1 and neither one worked as I hoped. IIRC, results varied based on the number of acid spores currently accumulated. I honestly didn't test it that thoroughly before moving on to just removing that functionality and having it be a most-of-the-way restore effect :lol:

i made a map with continous spell casting on units without eud, if you intrested in doin it without eud.

Darkenedfantasies knows another way also without eud, by using run script, that makes ai units use spells instant

you need to max out the sprite limit by making 2 big armies of units that fights against each other. valks will max out sprites fast but also crash game most of the time so dont use valks. archons and wraiths is good units to use to max sprite limit. so before game starts you max out the sprite limit, than all the next spell units created will have different ai, they will shot/target enemy units on sight instead of target enemies when attacked.
