Hello, good evening.
I just started using SCMDraft 2 and have ran in to some problems..
Everytime I start the map on Singleplayer UMS, it always starts with Nexus and probes.
I wanted the map to be an UMS RPG map and do not really want the map to think it is a melee map.
Also, the map size is 256x256 and it keeps on deleting units that are along the border wall.
I placed a few civs and beacons on top right corner of map and they do not appear when I test run the map..
Any help would be great, thank you!

Are you doing this? If not, post the map. Things i can think of off the top of my head is make sure each player has Start Locations placed, and that in the forces section the players are correctly designated as human/computer.

Hello Oh_Man, Thank you for the reply, appreciate it.
I do load that map under "User Map Setting" option. I am guessing the problem lies in the map.
Could it be that I have saved the map under a custom made folder within the "Maps" folder?
I have attached my map with this reply. Thanks again!

The start location it self produce a base of either Terran, toss or Zerg dependant on what the player is. To avoid a base beeing made You need All the players start locations above water for excample or another place where a base cannot be placed.
You can also choose to remove the units in a single trigger

Hey GGmano, thank you for the reply.
I wish I had thought to do that! Seems to be common sense.
I'll try that out when I get the chance. Thanks again.
P.S. Beautiful dogs!

Start Location does NOT spawn any units unless the player's race is left at "User selectable", and even that I think does not work that way in UMS?
Trial and error... mostly error.

Maybe yeah its only when user selectable i have that in my map and it creates a base for the player + 4 workers its an ums game.
So guess he can pre choose a race for the players to fix that issue

In GPTP you can see this:
if(
*victory_conditions == 0 && //check triggers for conditions
startingUnits == 0 && //use map units
*tournament_mode == 0 && //tournament mode off
playerId < 8 &&
(user_select_slots[playerId]) != 0 //race selected instead of using map settings?
)
startingUnits = 2;
startingUnits being 0 means UMS, so this code show conditions that change the value to 2, thus creating starting buildings and workers despite being ums initially.
So it must be the player race being left at "user selectable", then.
Trial and error... mostly error.
Yes, you have to specify the player's race in order to prevent their starting buildings from spawning.
Hello Everyone, thank you so much for the help.
I have fixed it by changing the user selectable to one of the three races!
It fixed both the issue of my units not spawning, as well as disabling melee.
Have a good one!

This should be added to the FAQ thread that is pinned above. I have also experienced it and solved it unintentionally (I couldn't start the game because of race since it was "player select" and changed it so the map starts faster while i was testing => Issue solved ..). now I understand what was causing that issue.

I think the better place would be here:
http://www.staredit.net/wiki/index.php?title=Quirks_and_nuancesIt's a wiki, so you can add it yourself!
Thanks for the link! That contains a lot of "good" information, I added this and some other info. I wish that wiki link was added in some of the pinned threads, becase I'm not sure if many people would see it otherwise.

The Wiki is linked on the right side of the navigation bar at the top of the site if you need quick access to it.

You're welcome.
