The person, who had feared for his life on so many nights before, awoke to the sound of his door slamming shut. It appeared he had been sealed in. "Finally, I can rest peacefully for a night." Those were the last words he said aloud before the figure moved from the shadows and struck him from behind. The surprise was rattling, and as the light quickly faded around him, all he could think of were the times he had almost died. He had been infected, he had been rigged, and now he was being assaulted yet again.
His last thought was the hope that maybe this would be another one of those times, maybe he would awake in the morning fully rested. However, long before that could happen, his attacker thoroughly ensured that Roy would never wake again.

I respectfully declined their "enticing" invitation to participate, it's almost every day now they come to inquire about it. They apparently think I don't feel obligated to attend nightly gatherings because of a social fear or some similar anxiety. The only reason I'm unwilling is, with no exceptions, I dislike them all.
The next time I'm asked, I'll tell them they are really beginning to bother me, and if they are determined to persist, that they need to come once every three days at the most. I would prefer they stop altogether, but they seem intent on harassing me, so I should at least try to limit it.
