Being azn, I didn't find it that offensive... just a dumb blonde being stupid. but it may have been the boobs
Btw.. jimmy wong is awesome
"So when you reach that epiphany Wait, are you freaking kidding me If you have an epiphany every single time you study means you're probably doing something wrong... ...but I like it when you're wrong "
I now feel bad for the poor girl. Not too bad because she is clearly an idiot for: 1. putting her image online 2. saying where she goes to college 3. uploading her real voice 4. saying stupid stuff in anger 5. doing all of the above on the same site.
Seriously, everyone is guilty of doing some of this stuff, but you never do more than like 3 together. Now we know her real name, her face, and that's enough to find her address, her phone number, her facebook, probably crack all her passwords to email and youtube, and virtually everyone at UCLA now knows who she is and what she looks like. I hope she doesn't get reprimanded by the administration in any way. She needs to be protected more than anything. Oh and of course she should put up an apology video, leave the original video uploaded and have it linked to the apology video as well. If she makes it into an informative video on exactly why she thinks she was wrong, it would be even better. Not sure if she should disable comments or ratings, but certainly she can't respond to any comment, and she can't upload any new videos with that account. I'd say she needs to make a complete internet withdrawal for at least a year. If she acts quickly, we'll forget about it in no time.
Also, "(ting tong) I don't actually know what that means" is hilarious. Great find.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
As far as I know, she did upload a video originally (obviously) and then took it down soon after people started to give her shit for it. She released an apology to the UCLA paper, and the administration at UCLA posted a video saying UCLA is wonderful and essentially doing damage control.
This is another pretty interesting response video. I think the most amazing ones are past now.
Ok here's 2 things I disagree with.
*Asians don't all get A's that easily. In fact they (particularly Koreans) don't do well when they get into elite colleges because a lot of them put on their best shows in high school & got into ivy leagues in artificial manner & can't manage more difficult situations in physics, calculus, chemistry, etc.. *Asian girls (again especially Koreans, much less so for Chinese, Japanese, and others) dress up all the time, much more so than their American counterparts (whose usual outfit would be t shirt and blue jeans) and do so much more make up...

Was this meant to be funny? Otherwise you're coming off as just as ignorant as the girl in the original video.

"If a topic that clearly interest noone needs to be closed to underline the "we don't want this here" message, is up to debate."
Where'd you read/hear that? Last I saw, she made an apology and the administration just frowned upon the video. She may be an idiot for posting it and saying what she said, but dropping out seems a bit extreme. I almost feel bad for her. Almost.
I have a couple friends at UCLA and they were telling me that a lot of people there still say "Ting tong wing wong" on their Friday night yell sessions, and a lot of the Asians in the libraries will be on their phones saying the same. I can see how that would be enough pressure for her to want to disappear, but to drop out completely is nuts. Poor parents who paid for everything.
I like how they did not reference Jimmy Wong for using his Lyrics
Death Threats or not, it is to be expected from internet trolls. Leaving the school is a good course of action, but probably not the best. Isn't it possible to just ask for a semester vacation? To let things die down?
EDIT: @Libraries At my university, there's one library that's strictly... STRICTLY.. quiet. one can hear a pin drop in that place... the silence itself is distracting.. but it set an example for other libraries, so it's all cool

People talking on phones in the library has become an epidemic in my uni. Not necessarily Asians, though London South Asians are pretty bad offenders in my experience. The real problem here is that the uni decided to turn the library into something like a coffee-shop.
It's for quiet work, damn it!
Also that girl is unattractive. And her voice is horrible.
You know she is actually really hot and is the top model at UCLA, right? She just looked really bad in that video.
