Don't have to hook them for long if it's mid/late game. L2 plus allies helping with the gank.

Mutant is boring.. It just makes games too easy...

1/10 games i random mutant, i know all the tricks and concepts, yet against advanced players, having only direct attacks and nightvision just doesnt seem to cut it. Lurker dodge l3, dodge l2, and l4 is just wait til end of spell then attack. No offense, but mutant seems appealing only because people are stupid enough to get hit by its attacks.Only when having a stunner is when mutant really shines imo.

If you can't hit your so called "advanced player" with an l2 then you fail at ling. Ling beats all units, except Bat.

ling can kill all units, but its more easily to be killed. and ling l2 is probably one of the most easiest spells to dodge.(From a different unit perspective)

You better not be implying that in order to just be a decent mutant, you need to be able to hit expert players with a moving lv2.
it seems like people who win with mutant l2 play against players who arent very good at dodging, unless they have stun, of course.
players that can react fast enough usually wont get hit, unless they are stunned or manage to get trapped somewhere.
any decent ling cant hit a moving expert player, especially if they are actually watching for it. i honestly think mutant isnt so strong that it beats everything, just that its fast and does high dmg, so people like using it

Lurker bomb for ganks and general HA-CANT-DODGE-THIS-NUBness. l2 for buildings, especially temple, plus stunned heroes.

A decent mutant can't hit expert players, but a pro one can. And it's never a good idea to focus on just one build if you're playing mutant. Pro ling beats all.

Pro ling can't hit pro enemy hero with l2.

That's what you think lmao..... You've probably never seen a pro ling then

I've seen plenty of pro lings. Show me a replay where a pro ling manages to land a solid l2 on a PRO enemy hero without any stuns.

Any. The only heroes that should be touchable by a l2 are DM and (assuming pre-1.5) volt(who should just l2 to stop most dmg).

Hitting moving lv2's with mutant is a miracle, not a skill. Yes, if a player could perform moving lv2s on command then mutant would be unstopable, but said player doesn't exist, and can't exist without LAN latency.
It was either blubalsuk or spek28 that was the best at moving lv2's, he was able to hit me moving as warrior 1/8ish times. That's the closest anyone's ever gonna get.
There is only 1 person that ive seen use ling to its full potential. He uses l2 more as defensive mechanism, rather than an offensive. Even he knows that expert players are not stupid enough to get hit by l2 on, So he saves his mana and goes for a lurk build or sone other build. l2 is situational, like when a unit is stuck in a corner and is vulnerable to l2, as he cant run. If you manage to get an l2 hit on someone, ur not pro, the enemy was either unlucky or just plain sucks.

I disagree Lotus
Granted the l2 is not the best aiming thing in the entire world and is situational but it is not that you are going to miss with every single attack. Often times it comes to use when you play with your teamates. Through some sort or slowing or whatever. You can also trap your opponent between his spawn and the wall and your l2 if you do it properly and time it correctly.
Solo it can be used against slower characters or sprung as a trap when burrowed at night. It is definately a stronger night spell than day spell. While I agree l3 is better overall it depends on what your specific build/strategy is that determines which is better. I will often use l3 as feeding and l2/l4 for killing/base demolishing.

Pro players don't get caught by spawn, or at least rarely. They also don't stray far from cannons if they're slow. Plus we were talking about a straight l2 without stuns or slows.

Late game it's imperative to focus on melee ups, while still maintaining lurker ups.
