I can't remember if they said they would or not, but I'm pretty sure they'll be included (much like the UMS maps that came with the original SC).
Currently Working On: My Overwatch addiction.
and no more eud based key press detection...
No more custom hack prevention though. Either blizzard gets it right or nothing.
Ah, I'm sure someone'll find a way to conditionally crash the game -- and if not, then there's always the option of ending a scenario in defeat for the player.
I hope the editor's easy to use... I'm probably gonna start trying to make a whole overworld right off the bat.
you don't get it. The eud is unique in that it actaully reads (I think all of) sc's memory. I'm no expert on memory offsets, but I know that whatever marvelous things the new editor will let us detect, it wouldn't let us dig as deep into sc's memory as euds can (because euds are a developer's mistake). Hacks modify things that should be the same for all players that sc2 editor's 'conditions' would never have anything to do with. It might be a pain in the ass, and they may be periodically defeated, but right now it is at least possible to pick up blizzard's slack. In SC2 we are putting all our eggs in blizzard's basket. If b.net2.0 doesn't stop them, there is no plan B.
I'm going to make a third-person shooter based on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars with mission objectives, multiple classes and purposes, buildings you can enter and build, air strikes, ammo, and best of all, Vehicles! Hello army of Anasazi Jets!
None.

I wonder how many of these promises (read: mapper dreams) are going to be fulfilled.

It's fine. There will more than likely be enhancements to be made and exploits to be found.
If it's not a complicated editor, I'm going to try and convert all my RPG's that I'm working on to SCII so no one make my DFC!
None.
Did Blizzard ever say they were going to include the maps they presented at Blizzcon? I hope they do so I can see how things work in the editor
As well as playing them of course..
I'm certain that you can play them at the Hyperion in campaign mode. The Lost Viking will undoubtedly make an appearance as a shoot 'em up//bullet hell arcade game. StarCraft Ghost could be played if I'm not mistaken. We'll eventually see more, such as a remake of the racing map Azeroth Grand Prix.
None.
yah, ima make a Zombie Map using the 3rd person shooter mode. When someone picks up a health pack, a sound will play saying, "PILLS HERRREE!"
None.
i shall make the first RP map. (Like i could lol) It would be called Targonian Rp
None.
I'll probably test things out to start with, not really edit maps until I figure out how everything works.
Sounds like a good idea.
Personally, I intend to make several RPGs and probably some defense maps.

Provided It-Over- isnt on or doesnt care im gonna make CHW v3b fixed to sc2
Provided pTp-President isnt on or doesnt care ima convert protect the president se v6.3

None.
Actually, I think I want to make a first-person Left 4 Dead map that has more weapons than L4D. And guys, The World Editor from warcraft is really easy to use if you spend 10 minutes learning it. It probably looks scary and overwhelming, I was unsure of how to use it for a year, then one day I just opened it up and was a pro from nothing.
None.
I am going to attempt to make a much-improved
The Thing map
Wish me luck
None.
The thing, as an FPS?
Also, I have a map idea in my head thats been floating around. I'm thinking I'll try my hand on that one with the SCII editor. Maybe It'll become popular like UnholyUrine's Temple Siege
None.
I'll probably be making some Resident Evil or Silent Hill maps.
Not just that though but some variety.
Wonder if SC2 is up for a Clock Tower
None.
The thing, as an FPS?
If an FPS is possible, then YES DEFINITELY!!!
I was thinking about it, and I think I'll make three separate versions, and then have you guys test 'em to see which one(s) you like the most!
I will make a:
1 - TopDown view (A.K.A. SC1 - The Thing)
2 - Third Person Perspective
3 - First Person Perspective (If there is such a thing
)
Please let there be such a thing!
None.
