looks good too, i like firebats, good to see em.
Why are the portraits at different angles than the
video in this topic? Most notably is Ariel Hanson's face is more closer to the camera and facing at a different direction.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just asking why are there different angles? Different versions of StarCraft II? Or are the new camera angles seen later in the game? Once the three firebats and the medic entered that base her face appears, and the video seen in the topic I linked shows an escorting situation on the same map and Ariel's portrait transmission is at a different angel.
Plus I can see that you can skip dialogue, despite the video didn't record the sound for that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7XiE_V0PZ8&NR=1 anyone else end up watching some of this afterwards?
Despite that being off topic, I wonder if they teach map making or modding.

neither, it's about playing.
Just here for the activity... well not really
I thought it was applying it to real-life.

It looks really nice. That grassy terrain is beautiful...
Relatively ancient and inactive
That is pretty awesome. Grr. GIVE ME MAP EDITOR.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
It would be cool if they randomized the movements of the creature swimming inside.

I visited the
gamescom yesterday. Yes it's spelled with an
'm' not 'n'. Don't confuse it with the
Games Convention (GC) or Games Con.
They had like 30 computers where you could play StarCraft 2. I would have had to wait for about an hour or a half to actually play so I skipped. One day is pretty short there, mind you...
( I hope I'm not banned from SEN now.
)
However I watched the others play for a while and I must say it looked neat and Blizzard really seemed to have managed to have transported the feel over from sc 1 to 2. Some additions to the interface, fancy and smooth graphics/animations, but nothing spectacular. I think I'll like sc2.

You guys want me to try translate some of the stuff they're saying?
fuck you all

if you think what they're saying could be semi important/interesting to us
I think they ruined the Firebat. Their looks from the past and personality would probably not be the same. The firebat looks a lot more bulkier and more like a robot. I think it looks a lot like the Tesla warrior in Red Alert 3.

I think it looks pretty cool. Especially the flames.

Actually Blizzard did that to the Firebat on the earlier builds of StarCraft II on. The first we saw the Firebat was in November 2007. Read Karune's answer in this old batch.
Q: Also, does the Firebat have any special abilities for instance one that makes a wall of fire and is channeled? Is there anything fresh that we haven’t seen for the firebat?
Karune: The Firebats are back with the same fire loving attitude, but with added Hit Points to help them get real close to their enemies. Firebats also must be produced from the Factory rather than the Barracks from the original StarCraft, since their suits are larger and able to sustain more enemy fire.
But then the Firebat was replaced by the Marauder (Appearance based) and by the Hellion (Attack based), and is most likely built in the Barracks now than the Factory. Notice how both the Firebat and the Marauder look absolutely identical on appearance, especially their portrait on the UI. Firebat came first, no doubt about it, but the Marauder is a recolored version of the Firebat based on the same concept art and both of their attacks comes from their wrists.

IMO, Blizzard has ruined almost everything that was once good in SC1.

I think they're just overreacting, just because one unit is different? The firebat was barely used anyways, no one likes him.
