So here we have it. Excalibur is now an admin, with the main focus on the community and moderation. I am stepping down from the community scene all together. This means coming to me with moderation problems or community problems is a waste of your time. I'll listen and relay back to Ex or Moose, but I personally will not take any actions. I'll also listen to any grievances you have on our new admin, but I'll mostly just expect it as a paragraph with no interaction from me.
I've been talking to Excalibur about ML 2.0 and his ideas and motivations, and I know some of you are tired of the weakness in moderation on SEN, so this seems like a logical choice. With Ex and Moose managing the community, this will give me any potential time with SEN to code, instead of dealing with community issues.

I'd like to take a moment here to thank IP, and promise my fellow SENners that I will do my very best improve the community here. Cheers all.
No, I don't, though I might be learning.
I'm mainly here to do community things, and get some nice hard moderation practices put in place to make rule breakers think twice. Merrell's suspensions for that quote chain were a shining example of what needs to be done.
Cool, always good to spread out responsibilities so people aren't overloaded. Hopefully this means that will be able to update our map screenshot files without getting an error soon
. Or upload maps...or whatever is first on your to-do list IP

I ENDORSE THIS DECISION.
Good luck Excalibur. Use your privilege and power wisely. I'm looking forward to a more mature and moderated SEN.

If IP is officially stepping down, I'll offer to do some code work this summer.. I should have some free time in a few weeks. We need coding done.
Re-read, he's stepping down from community/moderation matters, which I'm taking responsibility on. This leaves IP more time to code.
And suddenly Generalpie crawls out of his rock...
Congratulations again on your position Ex, looking forward to having less asshattery around here, even if some of the worst are gone.

Relatively ancient and inactive
Theory: IP and Moose don't want to hold up SEN, as it interferes with real-life stuff. They know that Excalibur is working on a Maplantis 2, and plan for that to be their excuse for retirement. They're currently giving Excalibur administrative experience necessary to make the transition from SEN to Maplantis 2 painless, after which SEN will be discontinued.
EDIT: According to the
Maplantis 2.0 Setup Forum, the launch date is in four days. It can't be a coincidence that Ex got the administration here four days before Maplantis launches, and I assume he'll be an administrator there...

As far as I know Cent, that isn't the case.
The launch date is not in four days. I bought the VPS but Yoshi is busy and needs more time to set it up. And I don't even know if Syphon finished the skin. I'd say another week or two would be more accurate.
Please remember that the timeline is always just a guesstimate, I am not a coder and so I don't know how long things take to get done.
That being said, this topic isn't about ML 2.0, so shhh.

SEN has become more dramatic recently...
I LOVE IT!

I'm quite sure I've not been under a rock lately, but it sure feels like I have been.
Congrats, nonetheless.

Oh gosh, I better stay out of Serious Discussion from now on.. *Collapses those forums*

Should've stayed out of them before. I'm saying this because if Ex is following his position properly, he shouldn't say it.
No, you're saying it because you're as biased as Ex. But flaming aside, I think Ex will be good for this site.
