I've grown to distrust IE. It seems as if my computers and laptops always explode while using it, even when I don't download anything.

Experience:
Bought a new laptop. Worked great, fine, was Vista, whatever, awesome, Hell. Anyway, I decided to give IE a chance, so I updated it and all that crap before anybody else in my family could break it with munster viruses and not so fun things like that. The problem is that my laptop exploded anyway, and eventually, porn site shortcuts started appearing on the desktop. After getting rid of them, Hijacking it all, and switching to FF, everything calmed down.
If it's not IE, what else could it be? I strictly monitored the laptop even when using IE, so how'd it explode like that? Eh, whatever.

IE is all right because of initial start-up speed and because it could utilize the fingerprint reader that's on my laptop. FF wins otherwise, though.

If you view sites that would put porno links on your desktop (Like...porno sites...) you will get them no matter what browser you use (Unless you have proper tools to block such things)

Though I prefer Fx myself, I do believe that either your anecdote is exaggerated, it's an isolated case, or that you're just wrong about it being IE in the first place. ( being handy with, being good with, being awesome-ass with computers doesn't change the fact that noone knows everything )

As to speed:
I was able to load images.google.com faster in Fx than IE. Hell, opening a new blank tab was faster.
And for memory consumption?

Chrome ftw.
...
Er, wait.

There we go, with my first restart in a couple days ( I only preserve cookies on close, so that's several days' history ) , 21, mostly big add-ons disabled, and without ten, image-and-script heavy tabs open.
lolwut, look where IE is. Also, of the three browsers, IE jumped in memory most as I opened new tabs ( using deviantArt, images.google.com, and IE's homepage ) .
Of course, other people have had better numbers with IE. It depends on the computer.

My Chrome runs ~25 MB per tab. If anyone cares.

Fx LAGS, IS CLUTTERED, HAS A LAME UI, TAKES TOO MUCH SPACE ON TOP, CONSUMES MORE RESOURCES AND I JUST CAN KEEP GOING.

I use IE, It's clean, suits my needs since I basically use it only for internet exploring, duh, I don't need to be like "OMG FIREFOX SUPPORTS TONS OF ADD ONS SO YOU CAN IMPROVE IT". I don't need all those plug ins that I don't even have any idea what could you possibly improve on the action of internet exploring and eventually they will just make fx lag more. I have all, Safari, Opera, Firefox, IE and Chrome and I just use IE. The few times I go on Fx are because of testing code and those few times I go it auto installs some fixes or whatever, I hate when things just install crap without asking, it probably can be disabled but it should be disabled by default or at least ask you if you want to upgrade.

Note how I have 3 tabs opened on IE and just one on fx and how fx consumes more resources

It's like you're actually retarded.

Such biased opionion in here. YOu might hate Microsoft but you can still use IE, you might hate apple but you can still use iTunes. Jeez.

I use Opera because I like to be different, and speed dial, and hotkeys I like. It also has the fastest load time of all browsers and fuctions the best on my computer for flashs located on the web. Also I like its skinnable features.

Kinda why I like Windows Live...oh the things you can do with the right program...

If you hate Apple, and like the piece of shit coding that is iTunes, I feel sorry.

Way to take an example and twist it. Winamp FTW

Another example would be to HATE AOL with a passion, yet still use AIM.

You'd use iTunes because it's effectively the only method to reliably update your iPod. Otherwise, yes, it's CRAP. Slow like hell. Good alternatives are Foobar for speed and customlizability. I personally use Songbird, because it has proper Unicode support (I couldn't get Foobar to work properly with Unicode) as well as other encodings that I'd find useful.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

LOLOLOL I owned myself, brb remaking that.

To be fair this is 1 tab vs 1 tab

As to Moose's lame arguement of Vista's update being disabled as default, I have to say that it has NEVER automatically installed anything at all to me, it always asks if I want to do it now, in 10 minutes in 4 hours or never when an update is ready to be installed. I don't know if you're a vista user but I am and I have never had any sort of issues like so with it.

Not iPod Touch. It doesn't have support for that yet. But, yes, I misspoke. Many non-iTunes players can update an iPod, like WinAmp.

Unless that person enjoyed an abusive relationship. Then you've got yourself a winner.
