He's not just a Zerg, he's a Terran/Zerg Hybrid created by Duran.
Because of this, he can infest a Battlecruiser. This also happened over a long period of time.
Zerglings receive the "Devouring One" classification.
He's a Hunter-Killer
class, mate. That means he was used as an assassin by Duran.

Hybrids are mixtures of both Zerg AND Protoss.
There's a campaign on Campaign Creations that has a 4-year-old Torrasque hero that's been renamed and reworked. He's a Terran/Zerg hybrid. Ever wonder why Zydrail could speak? (note: his voice is sort of obscured by the guttural nature of his Zerg mouth)
So wouldn't you call him an
Infested Terran?
You use a series of comical, childish words. "Megaload" for example.
I actually don't remember using that (not saying I didn't, just saying I don't remember it), but how is this a problem? Comedic relief in serious maps is bad?
Not that it's bad. It just seems to ridicule professionalism. Like what Doodan did in the last saga of his campaign.
A battlecruiser getting infested by a zergling is saying that I could take over a planet with 12 hydralisks.
Because Zydrail's a normal Zergling, and because I ever said he never had help with it. -.-'
But if he's a normal Zergling, how can he be Terran?
My alpha should be coming out soon enough, for those of you who want to test it privately.
KK.
I'm glad this isn't your map viet because the nit-picking restrictions you are trying to set would make it lame.
There's nothing wrong with it how it is...
Several things are unspecific and contradict the plot. They're not all BAD problems. They're just the general term of "professionalism" problems. None the less, you could include random puns. Doodan did it well.
None.
This map is gonna make me blow my MegaLoad.
A potential problem/gameplay pit fall that I can instantly perceive is that when you change form, how will you fix the HP?
The best way would have it like Mech in Temple Siege, where the HP stays the same for all of the forms (if they're damaged, they get damaged), but when you go heal, you heal all forms.
Another problem that I see is that.. since you're not using any Trigger-based spells, and since this is a 1player map, there'd be Constant form changing in order to maximize the effects of Starcraft's endogenous (as in already there) spells... which would be a major pain.... I would rather you have simple, trigger-based spells for each form, where let's say the Goliath can spawn a Sci-ves which can do Defense Matrix or EMP.. and is removed in 5 seconds. Rather than have the player go to the beacons and move the zling to the sci-ves ... do the EMP.. and then move the zling back to the goliath beacon.
Also, since you're using beacons for your form changing... the gameplay better not be based on quick form changing for winning.. because that'd just suck ass. I'd rather you have all the forms available at a section of the map, all Hotkeyable.. And when you move them (use inverted terrain/location trigger), you morph into them.
You should also not have above 5-6 morphs... or else it'd be too much.
Now here's an interesting idea, why don't you let the player decide up to 4-6 of however many units they can infect and morph into. You can even allow them to morph into stronger ones, which can only be found later in the game (or they can be a secret)... This'd make the game more interesting... Altho it wouldn't hurt to have a trigger-based spell for each morph.
If I've repeated something.. that's because I didn't read this long-ass thread (I hadda read TS's large thread already =.='.. sorry If i did
None.
Make a mod, where all the "Infested" units have Zerg Healing.
None.
Infested Terrans were just that, infested. Zydrail is a Zergling that was given high-end Terran intelligence and diplomacy, as well as some behaviors (e.g. he eats Terran food). He wasn't infested, he was created out of two different races' high-end gene pools.
FTR, I don't like wikis, and just because Zydrail doesn't have a ranged attack doesn't mean he wasn't a good assassin He does 16 damage/strike, fercrissake.
Was my sarcasm lost on you? Apparently, yes. I thought everyone else got it. Zydrail
isn't a normal Zergling, and he
did have help on the infestation.
The HP is simple. All units will heal over time (like [Vi3t-X]:] said), and I will use
move triggers rather than
remove triggers.
Zydrail will be able to recruit units like Queens, Dark Archons and Science Vessels (along with basic shock troops) later in-game. All of his morphs have no spells, but I'll probably FG-in a Psionic Storm/Disruption Web abilities to various morphs. His final ("epic") morph will have all his previous morphs' spells, if possible.
He has nine morphs, but these will probably be scaled down (or else some would become obsolete).
The "selecting" of morphs is an interesting concept. That could work.
Another thing is that you will be able to choose whether or not you'd like to help the quest-givers later on.
since its single player it would be neat if you used EUD key detection for changing forms like 1 for normal form 2 for whatever etc. etc.
None.

NO idea what you're talking about.
EUD Key Detectionyou could use that so that it would be quicker and easier to switch between forms.
None.
That helps.
Maybe, but SCMDraft doesn't allow me to save triggers, so I'll have to re-create it.
Thanks!
XD i can't believe you posted on here aswell,
anyways goodluck

>.> I also posted on the CC Forums, if it matters that much to you.
EUD is confirmed. Note that this will not be availible in the alpha build.
Just here for the activity... well not really
If you ever get around modding this, there are tons of infested grps out there.
Anyway, looks promising, fairly well dialogue and plot driven. When you finish you should polish the strings and terrain but otherwise gl.

And good luck to you and yours.
I support this map and hope to play it soon.
Cutest ling ever.

Thanks! Due to my habit of starting several projects at once, I was unable to complete the alpha on time, but then again this isn't even supposed to be announced, so...
And the picture was funny, but was that yours? It even had the title of the map on it, which made me wonder...
The background isn't mine.
I pasted the ling on it after I colored it using GIMP.
Then I wrote the title of the map on it.
None.
So there I was, wondering what the fuck happened to ingenuity.
Anyways, for those of you looking to play that alpha,
you'll have to compete for it.Me = So evil.
Honestly, this is looking a little bit like a generic hack 'n' slash... Like Crash RPG, but with the ability to change your unit. A good RPG these days
needs a trigger based spell system and items always help, ESPECIALLY if you're making a single-player map. Also, if you're going to have other units be buyable, make sure the cost is prohibitive enough and that Zydrail is strong enough so it isn't lucrative to just build groups of 'mercenary' units and have them do all the work so you don't risk losing your hero. I do like the ambient conversation feature, though. Make sure you put in plenty of randomized lines to keep things interesting. Good luck on this.

Does it really come off like that? I try to veer away from black holes like Crash.

Nuh-uh... (cough, NEW AVALON, cough)

They're in there (quest ones, at least).

Honestly, not using your hero = waste of money + lack of unlockables. Don't worry, cost isn't that high at all (you get like 1 mineral every 5 kills, lol).

Doesn't everyone?

Randomizing lines... *thinks hard* IF ONLY I COULD DO THAT!1!!11!!

Good luck on this.
Gee, thanks!
Is that supposed to be a good thing?
