Just here for the activity... well not really

Story

This is the Red Dawn falling at Enra VI, I repeat, capital ship The Red Dawn has been shot down and lost all batteries!

-Final Transmission from The Red Dawn

You play as the crew of The Red Dawn, Umojan capital ship, crashing on an odd planet that is infested with Zerg, has several Protoss warp Gates, and Remnant Confederate Experiments are let loose here. As the story progresses, you ally several factions and some will even turn on you. Captain Motley, the brave pilot of TRD, tries to put all the pieces and his men together before the Xel'naga's puzzle is solved first.

Gameplay
TRD is a very diverse campaign and will feature nearly every type of genre, but will MAINLY be Melee-style and lite-RPG.

I think its quite ironic that quite a while ago i though of the name black dawn...
Secondly to there was a 1984 movie about "communist ideology" with a falling economic times (IE cold war movie)

What king of rpg is this going to be,
i see this might be one of those rpgs where you have people there, but still feel alone (IE Spellsword)
so is this game turning to dks rpgs?

Most maps will be regularly divided (both players get a base) while some will be like Micro Macro, one builds other fights.

Edit: Yay, ACTUAL, non-demo gameplay.

Red's base, intentionally with weak resources.

One thing I found while testing with you: there wasn't enough strategy at all in the first mission. It was basically massing marines. Then again, as you said, the AI was glitched, so maybe it would be different if it worked.

Also, less hydras on side quest plz

Also also, I highly reccommend you make a mod for this, but don't just give the heroes extra spells. At least fix the ranks and make the captain dude not say "This is Jimmy" or "Raynor here". (Give him Duke's quotes or something.) You might also want to change the corporal's quotes as well.

I want to help you test this.

I've got sort of a soft-spot for campaigns, and I am yet to see a good two-player one. I want to help you make this everything a co-op campaign should be.

Also, I highly recommend you make a mod for this to AT THE LEAST create unique AI scripts.

When I played with Inferno, AI massed tier 1-2 and we were tanking. Not as hard, but at least strategical.
Maybe it was the fact that we goofed off for the first 10 minutes talking and it progressed, but I gave it a resource curve at the start.

I said it was last priority, and I'm not sure what editor to use.

I'd recommend PyAI. Check out the PyMS thread in Modding Discussion.

Also, if you are going to mod it, you could also give the bosses custom iscripts, which would be cool. Like instead of spawning and killing guardians for that ultra, you could use image overlays, which would look better IMO.

My starting base didn't have any gas. I said that when we captured a Zerg base, which had a geyser.

Hamachi?

And you'd use SCAIedit 3 or PyAI. I haven't used PyAI, but it's probably your better choice. If you need any help, there're tutorials around and I can get you going in the right direction.

I'm starting to look at custom campaigns and this one looks like it could have fun gameplay. I like the synergy of RPG and Melee.

As for the AI, I helped a Sons of War mapper with one of their maps and used PYAI, but there were a few things to work out. Mainly their maps are intended to replace the campaign ones and PYAI must include bwscript.bin as well for this. It's something that might snag you if you didn't know. Here are more details. Anywho, if your campaign is going to be modded, a custom Ai script would be a nice addition. Gluck and maybe we can help each other as I am wanting to start a small mini-campaign (maybe 8 maps or so) for my mod as well.

It's been a while, eh? Stupid real life.

Anyway, after a few testings, it has dropped a few elements and not ALL maps will be the standard melee format.
I'm also open to looping sound .wavs, if you have some please PM me.
