I've heard something about crash sprites but i dont know what these are. Anyone know methods to stop map hacking on a map?

Use SCMDraft to place the crashing sprites.
Or you could use EUDs, but those are hard and break sometimes. (I think Macs always break them.) I don't know how to use them, ask FaRTy or one of the othet ubers.

Thigh high affectionado

The offsets on Mac are completely different, And I belive you have to run Windows XP SP2 for 100% working EUDS on vista. They only work like half the time if you dont (Well thats just my experiance with Vista Home Pro)

Keep trying different ones until it crashes you :P

And to do that...bwhacks.com is where you'll see most if not all the current public hacking tools. Grab their stuff, and crash it :D

Always.

Disable doodad state for 1 Turret owned by player X at location Crash.

-------

Put a turret at location crash.

I always thought every hacking program has crashing unit protection by now... (not disabled sprites though)

Pretty much, but they only block the simple invalid unit ones, not anything else.

Norm, Maps just posted EUD triggers to drop map hack, so that's your best bet.

Here is the topic

how do i know which sprites crash it?
for example the sprite of the terran bunker fire overlay crashes

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

Devourer, the bunker overlay does not crash the most current map hack by Zynastor, as it has "sprite crash protection."

Disabled sprites still crash the protection, and they're by-far the easiest way to do it, although there are a few trigger based ones that can also do it. Basically, most of the methods that create rock sprites can beat the crash protection.

Falkoner, I have been trying some disabled sprites to crash me, but i can't get one to crash me. Would you post a sprite that does crash the Zynastor maphack? Thanks =]

Oh wow, it seems he has upgraded the sprite protection, the first time it was supposedly added, I was still able to crash it, now I can't, let me find something, it may take a day or so.

Edit: It also now protects against crashing portraits, so centering them on a crashing flag won't work either.

Edit: Units that would immediately crash the game still do, although that doesn't help us much..

Edit: I think I may have found a solution, although it can only be triggered once, so it wouldn't work constantly in a game, you'd have to just do it once or twice.

Okay, here's how it works, enabling a disabled sprite via triggers causes a crash if you can see it, the problem is you can only cause the crash once, if the unit is enabled and ordered to move before they see it, it becomes stable, I'm going to test a few out and see if I can find one that causes a permanent crash, but that's the best you have for now.

If it doesn't work for you, the unit it worked for me on was specifically a marine, which is usually a pretty stable unit.

Hmm, I just tried to crash myself with a lazer tag game and I was successful when i looked at a moving dragoon with rock sprites around it. I tried it again and it didn't work I'm not sure what happened, but i think it has something to do with the dragoon. The name of the map is MILES Laser Tag v92.

Edit: What happens if you disable the enabled marine if it has not moved?

Just tried that, it manages to beat it, and I think I'm slightly off, the map that I managed to create a functional crash in was my old map Fort Ethanios, in it I have stacked, cloaked units, and it seems that you might have to also cloak them to make it crash, I'm still testing though, so hold on.

I just tried your method and it won't crash but it was on un-walkable null terrain, I'll try it on walkable terrain too.

Edit: I got it to crash now. But it also crashes on Starcraft without the maphack loaded.

It wasn't a marine, it was a dragoon, it's working perfectly now, I just need to figure out how to make it last. The crashing seems to be a result of the enabling it.

Edit: Okay, I've gotten the crash once down perfectly, enabling the dragoon causes the initial crash, and to stop the non-hacking players from dropping you need to have a wait 0 then order the dragoon, however, once the dragoon is ordered it no longer crashes when you see it, so I've still got some testing to do.
