private_parts, I had the same problem. Go talk to the guy again. Make sure that you get the message that you lost 40 gold in order to learn Fire Arrows. I'm not sure what caused it to work, but I stood next to him for a while, pulled out my bow, pressed X, and finally got the lost 40 gold message.
EDIT: Turns out I misread your question. I thought you found the guy, talked to him, but never got the arrows like I did. Follow the post below me. This post was edited 1 time, last edit by SelfPossessed: Jan 18 2010, 7:27 pm. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Woo, finally finished it
Here's my notes I took while playing: Fallen Memories: Mission Briefing cut short(during Special Thanks) cool quote, left mystery Intro was a bit long when nothing to see (1:40 before any interaction) Area around screens should've been bigger(the null was visible on every screen Objectives showed controls = good, although coulda been in color, or better done Good displays, using supply and such, music is calm and not obnoxious Very nice spell work Sometimes gets a bit obnoxious, changing between screens and accidently clicking again and going backwards. Lost too easily, seems silly that you should have to completely restart just from dying Good linear storyline, I especially like the objective system. Very cool inventory system, well done Once at max, Mana keeps jumping up and getting reset down to max, could easily have been fixed by using At Most, and would have used just as many triggers. Cool shop system, although it looks like item amount is very limited In first room with orb of fires, if you place it right next to where you got it, it doesn't explode, also that room is impossible to figure out.. Other room the locations are too tight, and don't fit squares properly(looking at the map it looks like they were placed without grid..? Final boss is ridiculously hard, and there's no real way of beating him if you run low on potions/ethers/arrows(I ended up having to get out my memory editor and set my mana to max) Relies too heavily on spells, IMO, it seems like your normal attack should be a bit more useful than it is Excellently detailed terrain work, although seems a bit repetitive, mostly due to the small area to work with Some effects, such as invisible burning buildings, glitch up, for example, invisible burning buildings become visible when vision to them is lost, so I can now see the building Suggestions: Use a neutral player(9-12) for scenes where control is taken from the player, since his color will stay constant Decrease delay between ability to close menu after you've opened it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm still stuck in the room with the single Goliath statue. It's two rooms above the room with the Engineering Bay gate. I just gave up there since I really had no idea what to do.
EDIT: I'm dumb. I just realized I could drag the statue around ahahaha. This post was edited 1 time, last edit by SelfPossessed: Jan 19 2010, 4:12 am. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I found everything except the Magical Amulet (referred to in OP). Unless he meant the necklace? But that couldn't be equipped you had to give it back to the guy for the Tablet.
The last boss wasn't hard, just took me awhile to realise that his shield disappeared after the Spirits exploded. (had to check on OP to get help with that one). As for supplies I never had problem I had maxxed everything by the time I took the boss (Remember your Conversion spell?). So did anyone find the Magic Amulet? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am working on Hell's Awakening RPG, stay tuned for further details.

Not sure how many triggers you have constantly firing, but when I play this map I have my cpu running at 100% (usually runs at about 20% when SC is on). I don't believe this is unit lag, or has anything to do with your reavers//scarabs, I think it is actually the amount of triggers you constantly run. Just thought I should let you know so that you can keep this sort of thing in mind for the next map you make. Will finish up your RPG soon though, I think I'm about halfway done.

I found everything but the chain mail and some of the revive herbs (I found a 2nd herb, but I got an unplacable error). That includes the amulet. I can't remember where I found it though.
As for the final boss' shield thing, I figured out quickly that once the copies disappear, his shield no longer gets set to 100%. My issues were different. I was running out of mana the first couple of tries. I would use up all my Ethers and all the pots in the room. Using Z and X was wasting my mana and not dealing enough damage. C and V were sometimes targeting the minions instead of the boss. After that, I began trying to conserve mana a little bit. Same strategy overall though. I got close to winning once, but ended up running out of mana still. Then I decided to take out the minion spawns without using any of my mana costing spells first, then unloading my spells if he was vulnerable and no one was nearby. This included using my bow finally, but I ran outta arrows. I also ended up either running out of heal pots or dying. I finally beat it after a few tries by using the Z spell only for the Broodlings. I would also right click Zerglings and Marines if a Zealot was nearby (Zealot has too much HP, so I killed those last). I didn't use arrows since not being able to normal attack while it was out hurt too much; I actually killed everything but Zealots faster with normal hit. I would keep doing this until he would finally kill his illusions and there weren't any spawns nearby so I could unload my C and V spells (was trying to save on mana, so didn't bother with Z or X). So yeah. I think I'm just bad at this game haha. It was terrible when I got like a huuuge number of enemy spawns several times in a row. I suppose killing the HTs would reduce this, but I didn't want to waste mana, normal attacking was too slow since they ran, and I would run outta normal arrows too quickly. At least I finally beat it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hrmm. My Z spell seemed to be doing little damage, even to the Zerglings when they surrounded me. I needed like 2-3 Z spells to kill a freaking Zergling that my hero wasn't targeting. Note that I had the Z tablet and I used it. The Z spell was wasting all my mana.
Why am I so bad at this? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I had issues with him too, my main problem was that I saved after the doors had shut behind me, so I had to beat him with the supplies I had(stupid death = lose system), which were inadequate, so I actually ended up getting out a memory editor and setting my Mana to max so I could actually beat him. Yeah, I'd probably play the Rescuable Unit sound and send a transmission from the unit when it can be used again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
