Yoshi...I tried shooting the infested with arrows on my first attempt at the boss. I ran outta arrows and mana.
Xero...I must get really unlucky. I was killing those enemies and not getting any potions whatsoever in the boss room. I was nearly out of both Ethers and Potions when I finally beat him...and that was me being conservative as hell with my items. My Z spell felt really underpowered...took 2-3 to kill Zerglings, more for Zealots, and I had the Z tablet. I think I just suck at these types of games. But still, I enjoyed FM. Some things could've been improved here or there, but it was overall a great job. This post was edited 1 time, last edit by SelfPossessed: Jan 20 2010, 3:41 am. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If it's a single scourge, then shoot it with a bow. If there's a bunch, walk next to it, hold D, and walk away.
I never found the Z tablet, so my spell was somewhat cheaper than the upgraded one. The final boss took me a good 20 minutes? I lost track of time. I just know that by the end of the battle, I gained like 1k exp or something. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I finished it, I liked it. The story was a bit weak, and so was the dialogue sometimes, but besides that, the game-play was pretty good. I had so many ethers and potions though, yay for converting! The only puzzle I really didn't like was the one where you basically needed the path, I mean, that's just straight memorization. D: The last boss was a bit weak though, besides that fire move, I don't know why people had trouble with him lol.
I had 8/8 by the end of it, and I only died once because using the bows and spells at the same time is a little funky. But the ending was kinda crummy to be honest, but sets it up I guess. Oh yeah, the forest wasn't bad, but the entrances were extremely hard to see (which may be on be purpose) and also raised jungle is so fricking annoying to tell when you can go up or not. You're not old until the past seems more fun than the future.

I really like the lightning effect in the forest of insanity. That was ingenous, even if it took me a while to figure it out. (Unless the dying dt's were rain, I thought it was lightning) This map really lived from its awesome ambiance (terrain, music, professionalism), the cool room idea and the EUD interface. Also liked the upgrade system. Yes, story was weak, yes enemies were too easy with radiance (and too hard without it) but what really KILLED the map imo was the puzzles. In the end there were no hints how to solve them. Either you got the right idea or you were done playing. REALLY annoying. How on earth would you come up with dragging (and ripping off?) the Kraken's tentacles?! Or that you need to slow the reaver to remove a barricade? But the worst was the invisible path part. It was so long and so narrow it was nearly impossible without aids. I ended up drawing the path ONTO MY MONITOR and still had to try 3 times until I got through. Sorry Yoshi, as great as your map is, that was no fun. This post was edited 1 time, last edit by NudeRaider: Jan 22 2010, 7:16 pm. |

* SPOILERS * Lol Nude, I agree on the puzzle things, the only ones that I felt really cheated me was the invisible path one and the marker ones. Though you were right on the power generator one, I kinda just fluked out on that and I thought you had to block the reaver into the generator. Though I do disagree with your Kraken comment, I thought it was a natural progression to try that after all those switches that looked eerily similar to a Kraken tentacle, but it doesn't really make any sense that you're strong enough to rip out a tentacle. Also, you realize you can kill the spirits at the end to reduce his shields? It lets you get 50 damage every time you get his shields down.
