STORYLINE

On the ship back to Arios Isle, Taulis, a soldier, celebrates with the other soldiers after the 5 long years of war. After 5 brutal years, thousands of deaths and seemingly endless, bloody battles, the Dagone Continent finally fell to the hands of Arios. Looking forward to be re-united with his family, Taulis rushes home after he disembarks the ship.

He returns home only to find his village not the way it was when he left it. The buildings were wrecked. The houses were empty. The crops were burned. What happened here?! Taulis thought to himself. He looks around trying to find anyone, anyone that can tell him what’s going on. He looks through everywhere. All of the houses. All of the farms. But finds nothing. He finally realizes that something horrible has happened in this place, in which he does not know. But that was when he saw it. A scroll. On a table. It had sloppy handwriting on it that belonged to Kane, his brother. He reads it:

“ Dear Journal,
When you see your parents brutally nailed against their own house's walls, each with their heads decapitated and only a bloody mess surrounding the area, you wonder: How does the monster that did this live on without guilt? Only I am the lucky one in this atrocity."

Urgh, why was I not here to protect them!? Taulis’ fist full of frustration slammed into the wall, which then came tumbling down. What do I do now?! I guess the only place I can go is the city..

Taulis heads to the main city of Arios, hoping to find what happened to his family. But instead, he finds a dark secret that will soon corrupt the whole nation.

    Damage: 1
    Armour: 0

    •Fiend
    Unit: Marine
    HP: 22
    Damage: 3
    Armour: 0
    Exp: 3/4
Trouble makers of the bunch, these creatures roam across the land searching for people to practice mischief on.

    •Brute
    Unit: Hydralisk
    HP: 39
    Damage: 7
    Armour: 1
    Exp: 6/7/8
These monsters shoot poisonous projectiles that can sometimes drain mana from Taulis.

    •Phantom
    Unit: Zealot
    HP: 44
    Damage: 8
    Armour: 1-3
    Exp: 8/9
Phantoms haunt the forest surrounding the main city of Arios. These creatures also have a special ability that slows down Taulis. They're easy to kill, but pack a punch.

    •Ghoul
    Unit: Ghost
    HP: 4
    Damage: 7
    Armour: 15
    Exp: 10/11
Along with phantoms, ghouls haunt the forest surrounding Arios. Radiant Pulse is an easy way to defeat them, though.

    •Creeper
    Unit: Broodling
    HP: 1
    Damage: 3
    Armour: 255
    Exp: 1/2
Annoying little bugs that are just there to bug you.

    •Fire Goblin
    Unit: Firebat
    HP: 51
    Damage: 12
    Armour: 1
    Exp: 13/14
These creatures, who linger in the dungeon, pack a punch.

  • Bosses

    •Kraken
    Unit: Archon
    HP: 250/100
    Damage: 13
    Armour: 0
    Exp: 23
This ferocious monster is submerged in water below you. It submerges two tentacles that can grab on to you and hurt you. The head can fire a burst of energy that deals a lot of damage. The kraken can also create a whirlpool that drags you towards the kraken.

    •Spirit of the Dead
    Unit: Tassadar
    HP: 200/100
    Damage: 4
    Armour: 15
    Exp: 55
This boss has very tough armour and shields. There was a legend that its shields can only be penetrated by its own summons, Infected Spirits. Shortly after the Spirit of the Dead summons Infected Spirits, the Infected Spirits either explode or transform into a monster. When its shields are penetrated, you will need a rapid attack to hurt it due to its high armour.

SCREENSHOTS

This is Taulis using Sinister punishment. (As you can see, the terrain is separated into sets of 20x12)

When you press “D”, you can open chests. This chest contains a potion.

This is Taulis using Radiant pulse against a group of monsters. It both negates their attack and hurts them.

I found Leather Armour! It increases my shields by 6. Now I have to equip it.

This is the equipment inventory. You can get into it by pressing “Q”. I moved the probe to get my leather armour and I brought it to the top to equip it.

You can use Sinister Punishment to teleport to the enemies around Taulis.

Just had a play through of this, currently stuck in the "Insane forest of Insanity" :wtfage: So posting here before getting back into it.

Great RPG, looks very solid and so far has been very enjoyable. Couple bugs here and there but nothing that cripples the game.

Good job mate!

:payne:

Just finished it within 2 hours and 7 minutes ^^
I must say I've been impressed by your terrain overall (even though I still think that forest could have been made much less blocky). Problem with that uber blocky Raised Jungle is that it almost participate to the fact that you do not know if that tile is a ramp or I dunno-what. ;o
First of all, I'll point out bugs/errors/ameliorations:
Quote
The 'Mission Objectives' at the very start contains a "typo". It is missing a space somewhere, look at it.
Gauls somehow didn't show any HP.
At the end, I kept receiving a damn Ping saying to me to go at the Temple's entrance, even though I was past that part.
You say that any peach civilian can be interacted with. Some, after interaction, can't be interacted with anymore. You should probably make them turn blue.
Kane, at the end, was blue, while I was interacting with it (giving him the seeds).
It is long to buy stuff from the shop (mostly arrows).
The difficulty is -way- too easy. Remove all those pots (except the 4 in the High Templar boss and some before so the player actually knows he can interact with them). Also, we gain potions way too easily from the drops of the monsters.
Monsters dying from Fire Traps were considered as if you had killed them (not sure about this one).
In the starting Briefing (before you even play), right after click "Ok" (Go) in the lobby, we can't see the "thanked" accounts past lil-Inferno if I remember well.
When you suggest about turning off SC's sounds, you should mention the "Ctrl+M" for noobs.
The High Templar boss was pretty random. I couldn't figure out which attack could hurt him in which situation so I just kept spamming all my spells and I finished him. Also, he only managed to damage me twice... he is really weak.
I'm still wondering why I had to manually activate the things like the "Z upgrade"... why not making it automatic?
I could dodge/micro some shit by using the Menu option which sets me invincible, it even bugged some units some times ^^ (No, I haven't used it -that- much, just enough to actually test this "error")
Probably more coming if my dreams reminds me any ^^
Good job over the timing in the cut-scenes, I liked how the Main caracter moved and everything :)
The ambiance sounds were neat.

Nice RPG overall, really! ^^
(Even though it doesn't seems to ; it's just that I prefer pointing out ameliorations)

We call ameliorations "improvements" in English payne :P.

Yeh only things I noticed was I would sometimes get the "your troops are under attack" indicator when the Reavers were shooting Scarabs bottom right.
I could see the Terran counter flickering constantly, I guess that was a bit aesthetically displeasing.
Some of the terrain is hard to tell if its walkable or not and you had to sort of trial or error click it (this just may be why its called the insane forest of insanity?)

oh and i saved my game and used two ethers! aaargh!

Played this with my friend today. (two separate ongoing games). I gotta say, you did a great job Yoshi. Terrain was great, even the forest of insanity drove me slightly insane. Kept having to backtrack for items and such. I'm at the city right now talking to Sicarus(?). I'll be playing more later. My friend also said you did a great job.

Nice map man. I loved it. I beat it. Got every tablet, every upgrade, every move. Boss was fun. Kranken was very interactive and yet amusing. While the final boss was fun but i kicked its ass to hard. The more spells you had and the way you had your shit equipped the easier it was. Good job man...as well i couldn't stand the ending. Wish the map was bigger with more stuff. But overall it was great...wish Star craft had less limit. Ill be waiting for part 2. And it better be twice as epic. You freaking here me!
