xYoshix did a very good job with the ambiance... the terrain fits the background sounds and sets you even more into the scene.
One of the main problem was the difficulty (too easy) and that damn forest. You can't end up memorizing the way to get through it and even though it's probably the author's wish, it ends up simply being annoying because anyways, you just cannot die in this place. At least, there are some side-quests in the forest which justifiate the fact that you must pass in there many times.
Some doors leading to a new screen aren't always evident and I've wasted a lot of time searching for them. Maybe make them clearer?
The storyline was okay, but the dialogues weren't really great.
At first, I though the EUDs used were too complicated, but finally, the system becomes pretty intuitive and I love how, for once, we can actually play around with the inventory to our likes because different items shares different abilities.
Overall, it's a great RPG and I still think the 2 hours it required me to beat it weren't lost.
^.^
