ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Strings have always been buggy.

For future reference, here are the rules. Please read them. I'll put this in the category of breaking rule #2, and possibly #4, but mainly #2. While you're at it, read ALL the stickies.

A few tips: "!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" and "AHHHHHHHHHHHH" add nothing to your post. A simple exclamation and/or question mark would have been satisfactory. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH" is not a topic description, even if it describes how you are feeling at the moment of writing.

I'll give you a chance to edit your first post, with a better description of your problem. Currently, your post can be summed up like this:
Quote
I was looking through strings when my map crashed and when I try to open the map again it says "Something Bad Happened, Would you like to save a diagnostic file?"
To help you with this, we have to assume a lot, and we will inevitably have to ask you more questions.

There are really only two things I think you will end up being able to do:
Open the map in different editors, or revert to a backup.

"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"

you can always try deleting the .scmdb file in your scmdraft directory, if you dont mind deleting your backups.

This may or may not solve the issue.
Therefore I recommend to move the database file to a different folder instead deleting it.
Else you wouldn't be able to revert to a working version of your map.

Does it crash when you open the program by itself, or does it crash when you double-click that specific map?

If the former, then a reinstall would likely be the best course of action...

But if SCMDraft2 only crashes when you open that specific map, then you should probably try opening it in another editor (StarForge? X-tra?) and see if you can find and fix whatever is confusing SCMDraft2.

Back* from the grave

Try reinstalling the latest version (see http://www.staredit.net/topic/8307/), and if that doesn't work, I think Nuderaider mentioned 0.7.0 is the most stable build of SCMDraft.

If none of that works, see my signature. Signatures never lie.

Of course we don't understand. You haven't given us enough information. Nowhere have you told us which program you're talking about. If it's Starcraft, reinstall Starcraft. If it's some map editor, reinstall the map editor. By the error message, I can only assume you're talking about SCMDraft, but we can't know that for certain unless you tell us.

Stop being an ass rockz... You know exactly what he is talking about, When he trys to open his map up in scmdraft he is getting this error, reinstalling scmdraft will do nothing for you(unless it is every map its doing it too), the best thing to do is look through your back up files that scm saves for you and see if you can find an earlier version that does not have this string error, or have a friend give you that last known working one... and that should also work.
Sometimes things get messed up in maps you should always back up your work.

As rockz said, your information is imprecise.
When ScmD crashes on startup without opening a map then you should try reinstalling and/or another version. Moving/Deleting the Backup DB might help too.
When it crashes on opening your map, try reverting to an older version using your Backup DB and if that doesn't help, also try Moving/Deleting the Backup DB.
