i really dont think it matters what order you tell things, bad news still sucks, good news still rocks.
if you were told your mom died, but you got a full ride to harvard medical, i dont think it would matter about the harvard thing. your mom died, the bad defintaly overtakes the good.

Bad news first because hearing good news makes me real happy and hearing bad news makes me real frustrated. I'd rather be happy with a tinge of frustration for the rest of the day than vice versa.
