nothing about elo heme (or whatever), Jesus having multiple wives, the Indians being Israelites, and the meeting on the planet kolab (but i have heard about that planet).

But seriously, if anyone wants to start persecuting Mormons because of this, just gtfo. Its not your life.

This is incredibly twisted, the entire first part is unknown to us, and therefore we don't teach it, now, the part about the council in heaven is true, at least about Jesus and Lucifer being there, the entire video acts like we're like Greeks and Romans and believe in many many gods, though we only believe in one God, like most christians.

Now, the rest is basically untrue, we believe Lucifer presented a plan where we would recieve bodies, but everyone wouldn't have free agency and therefore would all return to heaven, but then it would have no point, God also had a plan which required a Savior to atone for the sins of everyone else, which Jesus stepped forward to be the Savior of, giving the glory to God.

The part about us believing neutral spirits are black people... wtflip? We believe that a curse was set on certain people and their descendants are that color, it's not decided in heaven.. The part about those who fought most valiently for Jesus would be born into mormon families is also untrue.

The part about Kolob is completely ridiculous, as Kolob means "nearer to God", we don't believe it's a star..

I don't know where they got the Elohim being Adam part.. Our religion says nothing about that. Starship Kolob? What is that?

And Christ having a wife at all is screwy, or multiple wives at least.

Okay, I'm not even listening to the rest of it, this is crap, and was obviously not published by the Church, or they wouldn't be referring to themselves so oddly.

Lucifer wanted the glory for himself, which is one of the reasons his plan was rejected.

For the record, the video clearly says banned by the Mormon church. Obviously the church thought it was either untrue or too revealing. Hopefully untrue.

Aug 10 2008, 1:45 am ClansAreForGays Post #11

Stumble Less Toa

Lot's of things are untrue, but you don't go around banning all of it. There's no source saying it was officially banned so I'm not going there.

I never considered Mormonism on the same level of crazy as Scientology, but after your posts (not the video) I starting to think it's pretty close. Everything in that video has been mention as a 'revealing' from one of more prophets throughout your history. When you say "This is NOT taught in our church" I could compare you to Scientology so easily. Do you think they teach or even mention Xenu in their weekly church meetings? No. You are also flatly denying the majority of the video. Like they just made a cartoon of something that popped into their head. Sounds like the Scientologist reaction. It would be anything thing if you said something like "That part is referring to Brigham Young's revelation, which he later took back", but you don't. You put your fingers in your ears and go "LALALALALALA"

Aug 10 2008, 4:05 am Fwop_ Post #12

Brigham Young has said things that are not revelation, but opinion. Quite a few things. Not everything a prophet says is doctrine.

Aug 10 2008, 6:10 am SiN Post #13

Brigham Young wasn't even a prophet.

This is what has always got me, logically, on a very fundamental level. Turn it around. In a heaven/hell system, we are essentially set up to fail. You say there would be no point without free agency, which without it we'd all be guranteed to return to heaven. Well then, what exactly is the point of free agency? One of two outcomes can happen: You lead a 'good' life and return to heaven, or you lead a 'bad' life and go to hell. Without free agency, everyone gets to go to heaven. With it, all that is introduced into the equation is a chance to go to hell. Thus, we are essentially set up to fail. What is positive about eternal punishment?

I don't consider myself mormon (or even Christian, for that matter. I'd specify further, but that would be irrelevant), I simply said I was raised mormon.

According to Lucifer's plan, we would all return to Heaven, because we would all be forced to be perfect. This would take away our agency. God wants us to choose for ourselves whether or not to return to Him, and this can only be done if we all are given the gift of agency. We need to prove to Him and ourselves that we will be obedient to the commandments, by choosing whether to keep them or not.

When you say "all that is introduced into the equation is a chance to go to hell" you forget that we can overcome our wrong choices through repentance (the Atonement makes repentance possible). To an extent, yes, we are essentially set up to fail (since no one is perfect and cannot go through life without making a mistake). But that is why our Church stresses the importance of the Atonement so much, because we believe that through it we can achieve that perfection and cleanliness that we need to enter His kingdom.

I hope that clarifies some things.
