When I used to map I used to join random tests and some of them were like "OMG You're CORBO" I was rather famous specially in the bounds area.
Anyway, I'd give them ideas to motivate them even when they say they couldn't do them, I said I'd help them and find me on X channel so they went, talked 10 minutes then I randomly joined a cats vs mice game and never see them again.

I try to act like I actually no something about mapping. "Yeah, maybe a trigger should go....there" I don't know what to say, I only know that its not a great map I tell them to find scmdraft, sometimes tell them to come here. But thats b'out all I can do

I never realized that, but I probably play SEN members maps all the time, and don't even realize they made it. I just found out UnholyUrine was a SENer yesterday, and I was amazed The one map maker I would like to meet is E.x.c.i.t.i.n.g

I generally point towards a mapping community or tool. I think I introduced at least one guy towards SEN (Ever have a day where some guy in Public maps just seems to be following you?).

I don't even really help new mappers anymore because they're all assholes. Everyone spoofs and drophacks now and are most likely 12-15 and or old and pissed off at the world.

Lol, I'm guilty of spoofing a few well-known mappers Although, I actually have had people recognize me, just a little while back someone messaged me asking if they could make a map using the same idea I used in Ghentinsville

And your response?

I ask because they might:
1.) Butcher it. (Has happened a hundred times over.)
2.) Show you up. (It has.. happened... Not directly towards you necessarily.)

What's your consideration?

I said go ahead, and it wouldn't really be hard to show me up, it was my first map, and while the idea was nice, the actual map was crap, and if I have time I really want to remake it with the knowledge I have now And if he butchered it, whatever, doesn't effect me at all

Hey, you as well as all of the other map makers, who have made successful maps where there at one point. You can't just open up Scmdraft 2, or whatever editor you prefer, for the first time, and make a master piece.

On the other hand, the map makers who can't or are too lazy to learn anything, are just idiots.
