We live in a society.

I am taking applications for the position of Tutorial Keepers to help run the Tutorials Database.

A Tutorial Keeper's jobs include:
- Approving/denying new submissions to the Tutorials Database
- Seeing that existing tutorials are updated, well-managed, and otherwise maintained.

Qualities a good Tutorial Keeper should have include:
- Knowledge of the subject matter. I plan on having one or two Tutorial Keepers for both mapping and modding, so knowledge of both is not required. A Tutorial Keeper must be able to judge where or not a tutorial contains accurate information.
- Good grammar and spelling, for when existing tutorials require correction or new submissions must be cleaned up.

Apply by posting here. You may apply in any manner you wish. Some reccomendations for your application would include demonstration of experience with and knowledge of relevant subject matter, a mature statement of why you feel you would a good tutorial keeper, and anything else that you feel would make me want to hire you.

Also, note that this thread is only for posting your application or asking questions relevant to your application or future job. Posting comments on other's applications or random subjects will be deleted.

Are applications still open?
So long as this topic is open, you may post an application. An application may be used for hiring at any time, regardless of age.

Who has been hired thus far?
http://www.staredit.net/?p=members&group=380

WTF who are those people you're hiring? They didn't even post!
There are threads in both Mapping Assistance and Modding Assistance. Check the other thread, they probably posted there.

Well, I wouldn't mind doing it at all!

Application:
Proof of Terrain competency:
http://staredit.net/?topic=65
http://staredit.net/?topic=563

Proof of Trigger competency:
http://staredit.net/?topic=1640
And most stuff in this forum :P

And while I don't Melee too much, I know enough to look through things and know whether or not they are helpful, and I think you know me well enough that you know I have fine grammar, my only thing I would be useless in is Modding, as I have no experience in that field.

I'd be willing. I'm pretty knowledgeable in most areas of mapping and I can tell, for the most part, whether information given for help is accurate or useful. I don't have much to offer for demonstration, except for what I've posted in help topics.

I have been part of the SEN community since V4 days when this was like the biggest thing and for about 2 1/2 months I had 100% participation when it came to posting in the help topics and in the map production and showcase. I am a big person on having people submit information that is correctly spelled, worded right, makes sense for both new people and experts alike, and the information is 100% valid. I would update any tutorials that would need to be updated if something like a patch or so would effect them in any way and I would be willing to make my own contributions, if needed, such as pictures, trigger sets, or maybe even videos if needed to make a tutorial be more understandable for the person trying to make use of it. I hope you take this into consideration Moose but whom ever may get the positions I will congratulate them.

Thigh high affectionado

Ive never begged for an admin position before, and I don't plan on it, but I would be greatful for any SEN position. So let me discuss what I do and don't do.

I rarely make grammatical mistakes, and if I do so, I edit the post and make sure they are fixed. Im not an abusive BBC code user, so on top of things, you'll probably be able to read my paragraphs (Or whatever I may type) a little easier, than say someone who quotes 3 different people to say "lol".

I've got a large collection of concepts, Both old and ones I tried, including sprite stacking, bunker cloaking, and some classics. Of course, to be a tutorial keeper, one must check and challenge the theory sent by the user, and made sure that it is indeed, a working tutoral. Having done these kinds of maps, I feel confident in my ability to check these tutorals to their fullest.

Im also on the internet every day, unless something grim happens. I get on SEN just about everyday as well, if not every six hours. I'll probably be more active in my map making if I were to recieve this role, meaning all those maps I ever tried will probably, and finnaly, be finished. (And finnaly I'd stop making topics in the Maps in progress and more in showcase)

So all-in-all, I am a active member, and would gladly serve the sen community as a tutorial keeper, and not vanish into the night without a notice.

Quite frankly, I would love any position above a standard member user on SEN.

I think I would be a good choice because I have the ability to devote myself and a ton of free time.

I could potentially scrutinize each and every tutorial laboriously to ensure quality and up-to-date...ness...

A sense of humor?

And a way of proper spelling, grammer, and mature statements that make people understand they're being looked down-- er, being carefully and tactfully notified their tutorial is insufficient in some way or obsolete, and it must be either updated or removed.

I also have a tendency of good scheduling, which helps quite a bit.

Could I apply for the position? Though I've only released..one map, I'm quite capable of making any trigger, or debugging it, known to man.. or SEN. I've helped a lot of people with things, and I think this position would suit me well. Plus, I'm now pretty active at SEN, this might make me even more active.

Oh yeah, I've got epicaly good grammar.

Oh, you never know. DM and I might be able to share the role. ;D Since we're brothers, that would make communication between us easy and without error.

Surprise, everyone, I still visit this site reguarly! I just never post anymore... ironically, that's not one of the requirements.

If you need me I'll do it. Most people who know me can vouch for the degree in which I know my stuff (excluding stuff that's just for looks and I could care less about), and I'd check daily. As far as resume stuff goes, I'd say that my maps and all the posts I did in the day is what matters ;). Good luck getting the tutorials going again, and even if I'm not an active member anymore, I'd still like to be able to do anything that could help the place out.

Well, I'll just put my name out there. I know how to trigger very well (no one is going to believe that ^^ ). Not claiming to be as good as tuxedo templar or anything but definently good enough to do the tutorials. I do not have much evidence that I am a competent mapmaker for I have not seriously made maps in a year or so though I assure you that the knowledge still remains. I do type in full complete sentances most of the time, so I would imagine that is a plus. Back before this site went down it really frustrated/annoyed me that there were so many useless tutorials or in some cases repeats and if I were "in charge", I'd keep it straight and clean as such. I swear Cheeze (I think he was the keeper...) just started accepting tutorials without reading them.

I would love to apply... Anything to help out around here to keep this site alive.

Id love to make tutorials.... I visit the site at least Daily (vacations permitting)... Some days 3 or 4 times during those days.

I know the material needed... Im not saying im the best mapper to grace the earths presence with, but I definately know my share of mapping.

Triggers? I have never been yet wrong on anything that Ive aided anyone else with.

Terrain? I delve into it a bit... Manipulation and Asthetics... I found it interesting... and im learning a ton by the minute

"But what separates me from everyone else? Why me? What makes me so special? I mean, Sure, i may know how to map quite well, but who doesnt on this site... right?
Well... Whats my silver edge of the axe?"-You ask...
I can teach. Tutorials are for educational purposes of mapping that will answer every question (that it relates to) that the reader has. Videos? Animations? Just plain old text and visual picture aids? No Problem. I can make it stick. When i say teach, i dont mean classroom type formality teaching with curriculum and textbooks... Who wants that on this recreational site? Ill make sure that the tutorials on SEN will answer any and every question. Hell, allow me to lead the tutorial database for one week. One Week. Youll swear that if your tutorials and Maplantis's tutorials got in a metaphorical fist fight... Youd beat the livin' shit outta them. As for the grammar? Well.. hehehehe... I know it isnt displayed here very welll... but I catch almost any and every Grammar, Mechanical, Spelling error... Be it a typo or just a plain inability to communicate in proper english.

Ah... here it is.. http://www.staredit.net/?topic=1588
Check this out. Oh, btw Falk- No... a ";" wouldn't be the best. In Scenario Dialogue, you have to remember these are the supreme rulers of entire dominions of different types of species, and intergalactic empires. The ";" would not be formal enough.

You know... now that i read it again... I think i was a bit harsh on the guy.... hmmm....

Just here for the pie

Well I pretty much never spell anything wrong, or use terms like lol, rofl, or abbreviations excessively. I'm good with grammar, terrain, and triggers. I have a huge amount of knowledge in the field of mapmaking, but almost NONE in Modding. I'm also intelligent, so don't think i'm stupid. I am probably one of the most active members, I'm on SEN whenever I got nothing else to do, which is a lot of the time. I'm willing to moderate the tutorials if you want me to.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

I would like to apply for general Trigger tutorials, I know a good amount although I've only been mapping for a year now. I believe you and I have met on several occasions, but I doubt you know if I can Trigger or not. An example of my triggering ability:

Pirate Dyne v0.8

And I have been able to do some cool things with sprites via triggers:

Sprite Battle System
Stackable Zerg from Larva

Also, I have been in the mapping communities, both SEN and Maplantis for some time and have aided the needy when I found the time. If I received the position, I would convert more of my time towards managing the Trigger/UMS Tutorials. I have also taught many people on how concepts work, how to stack sprites, how to modify them, how to organize triggers and how some of the general StarCraft mechanics work.

Man... That sounded like an interview or something. Guess I got carried away

Moose... We got any news on what is happening with the tutorial keepers or are we simply waiting to have IP finish with all of the new coding because I want to see who gets all of the spots....

The tutorial system is funny right now, the parser needs to get fixed. Beside that, there are very few tutorials being submitted anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

Is the position still open to others?

If so I apply with these credentials (for triggers, I'm not very good with terrain):
Example Maps
There aren't very many, used to be more, but after I reformatted I lost most of them :(.
Oh well, just have to remake them.

How did kow get it over falkoner? I mean I think kow is one the the more original and funny members, but I'd rather have Falk's help. If I was Falk I'd feel jilted after all the more time I put nto map making assistance than kow.
I guess what I'm saying is I smell favorites.

It never hurts to give the unpopular or unnoticed a chance. They tend to want it more, and, thus, work harder and perform better.

I'm only saying this to alert you of my position. I'd like to do it, but I have a life, just like most other people. I just like sharing my knowledge with others.

I was never good at making a resume. Hurrah.
