Quick question, I want to make my own www.<whatever>.com or .org website. I want to know which host/server is the best and cheapest place to get one. It's only going to exist for about a year, since I am webmaster for this one organization at my university. Anyone know?

None.

If you are just looking for domain names(free, too), eh I think you should look in here. http://freedns.afraid.org/
I got my .it.cx name there.

Just use the University's webspace. It's affiliated with UT right?

www.dreamhost.com is nice. I believe you get a free domain upon signing up (if you do choose to sign up, please contact me about saying that I referred you :P), but if you don't www.namecheap.com is a good domain vendor.

I've used www.1and1.com and www.godaddy.com and don't have any major complaints about either of those.

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
