Looks to me like there is quite a number of people who dislike continuously playing Überena and Phantom over and over. You should be able to play your own maps without much of a problem.

Quote
1.When someone like myself or whoever else could host offers hosting something other then Uberena, phantom,or any other melee like game they just say no or get bitchy.

If they assume this attitude the whole lot of you can just ignore these types of people.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in for having the most fun out of a Map Night but some things have to be straightened out. First, not everyone wants to play the same game, that's a bad for both parties. Sometimes you just join a game because your friends joined it -- maybe it wasn't your map of choice -- but you join to be with them. Secondly, the "Überena/Phantom addicts" have to review their attitude towards others that do not wish to play those types of games. Third, splitting up Map Night between both parties wouldn't be a great idea. I have to use this as reference but I'm sure everyone remembers what happened with all that "Protect Maps vs. Open source maps" discussion a few years back? Didn't end very well, didn't get much out of it and we pretty much ended what we did best and liked best, make maps.

Just be cool about it. If things get out of hand just ignore the troublemakers.

I just think everyone should switch over to Op MapNight, I mean, we're here for Map Night, not SeN :P

Actually yesterday was an improvement. Before yesterday it was all "OMG HOST PHANTOM HOST PHANTOM HOST PHANTOM" type of thing.

Although I did not approve of one individual for hacking, insulting, hosting a game where he will suddenly wins, constantly hosting by not giving others a chance to host at least two to three times, was banned. Hacking in Map Night?

I'm just glad you unbanned me from Op MapNight :) You know, I wasn't using the hacks in-game, map hack was never on, I think at the most I used multi-select. Yes, I know I did use host hack that one time, but it was a joke :P

But yeah, that was definitely the best map night I've played in a while, even being on my computer that didn't have all my good maps, if you enjoyed that one, show up next week and I'll have a ton more ready ahead of time.

Also, I just set up my bot for Op SeN, so when I'm on and it's not Map-Night it'll be there.

That's was the best map night I've attended in a long time.

The lowlight was Kill Me and the constant latency settings setting by a certain individual...

Hmm, when I developed Op MapNight, Map Night actually went amazing. Then slowly degraded through time of my absence. I'm going to turn on Op MapNight every Friday starting on 4 to 5 PM in Pacific Standard Time for now on. Don't go to "Op SEN", guys. It's going to be a bit confusing to know who will participate or not. Get on "Op MapNight" every Friday night on 4 to 10 PM PST.

Oh and I'm also going to create groundbreaking rules here since Falkoner likes to abuse some things.

1. No hacking at all. Never, or you are banned from Op MapNight.
2. Stop host hogging. You are not special, anyone can host as long if they don't keep hosting constantly leaving others not able to host.
3. Don't host the same map over and over again. It's going to get old quick.
4. Ignore those independent players trying to steal the spotlight and dragging you to another channel by calling it "Mod Night", the channel is Op MapNight and that is where you SHOULD stay.
5. Don't host a map where you alone are most likely to win against everyone else.

That's where it gets a bit complicated. Op MapNight is far more simple.

We live in a society.

More rules and a longer name are more simple?

op SEN is the best.

I have the best idea! How about people actually show up to map night instead of discussing channels.

Sep 8 2008, 3:35 am KrayZee Post #55

Unless you want someone hacking and ruining it for everybody, Moose. Or having someone constantly hosting the same map over and over again every week, which is the reason why I made this topic. And host hogging, pretty much self explanatory.

People will play the game they want. If someone wants to play the same map then let them. The people that join the game are people that want to play the map. If someone wants to play a different map then they should just host a different map. It has nothing to do with what the channel is.

MAPNIGHT IS MAPNIGHT IS MAPNIGHT!!!
op sen is cooler but it still wont fix the fact that map night sux nowadays.
You need a better offer than a change of channel name if you want more people to come.

Sep 8 2008, 7:01 am KrayZee Post #58

devilesk, the point I'm bringing this back up is to grab attention. Ever since my absence on the channel the week after I 'revived' Map Night, Map Night has been becoming less attentive. Op SEN is Op SEN, it could be anything depending on other views of it.

I'm not even sure what all the fuss is about Phantoms...

Sep 8 2008, 7:38 pm ClansAreForGays Post #60

The only reason to add an additional moderated channel is to ban/exclude people from map night.
