If you're wondering why after reporting a topic or person 50 times no one has responded. It's because the report feature isn't working yet. As of right now I can fully see that there are reports that need to be looked at, but I can't actually access them. So if you have someone being a jerk, or if a topic is in the wrong place, blah blah any of those moderator required needs just PM a mod. The only mods I know of are Me (Golden-Fist) and Doodan, if you know another one that you like better, feel free to PM them.

Or if you're an anarchist listen to Rage Against the Machine and do nothing.

We live in a society.

Technically me and IP can read them, that's about it.

Also, some forums have other moderators (ie,. Cheeze on Politics, Voy on Modding).

Ok so if something isn't working it's because moose and ip are lazy bums and decide not to tell us the reports.

NICE DAMAGE CONTROL MORON

I accidently reported someone. I pressed the report button, and it was cool. It popped up a little box, I had to try it out. But it took like 5 minutes, so I canceled. If you get a report from me, ignore it.

We live in a society.

Don't worry about it, half of the reports won't be valid by the time all the mods are able to use them. :P

You and 50 other people.

And since you asked, no you can't be a mod. Maybe if you were very active in a certain forum area and tried to help everyone, or showed experience in telling people what to do we would be interested in hiring you. But as far as I know (and to be honest I don't even know who you are) you don't fit any of those qualifications. Also right now we don't really need mods. Being a mod is a job not an achievement you gain for sitting around on a forum for four years. It's not an "elite status" it's a required position that needs to be filled by certain people who know what they're doing.

And asking doesn't help

Furthermore - Do not ask to be staff! This will annihilate your chances of becoming staff.

He's the guy who got banned from Maplantis for blatant trolling. :omfg:

Edit: By the way, I don't really think it works for moderation statis to be based on seniority in such a large community. It can be applied as a prefered requirement for certain things and usually not much more.

Johnny, I know you and I don't want you moderating.

Sorry you had to hear that, you pretty much asked me to say it. Now you know. :P

Sep 12 2007, 11:36 pm mikelat Post #19

The problem with having the amount of moderators that you had in SEN v4 is that everybody has their own moderating style, and conflicts occur. Everybody has their own moderating style, many people can't use the power without abusing it, many people just aren't cut out for being moderators. I've seen people on SEN abuse moderators powers to "get the last word in on debates then lock the topic" and other things, and really debating is a part of forums. If you can't handle it, don't participate, and don't ruin it for everybody else.

What you should do instead, is PM, or better yet IM a moderator who has IM details and they can make the decision if moderation is needed.
