Quote from MillenniumArmy
Everything nowadays uses programming and computer methods to solve problems and all. Computer science goes way beyond that and get into more difficult, theoretical, and technical stuff; they can even invent their own languages

but I think we can all agree that Engineers > Computer Scientists, anyday.

Engineers actually MAKE things for real, in the physical reality. CPU Scienctists just make fancy programs for retards at home to use. Example: HACKS. Some idiot CPU guy made hacks for sc and did what a CPU Scientist would; release them to idiots. That's why CPU viruses, hacks, Identity theft, poverty, hatred, bias, prejudice, and virus diseases created by man exist today. Because of Computer Science!

Pros on CPU Science:
Uses programs to solve complicated problems
Makes complicated designs for Engineers to possibly follow through on *hopefully, as well*
Can help cure diesease *maybe*

Cons on CPU Science:
CPU viruses
hacks
Identity theft
poverty
viral diseases created by man

Reasons for the cons are:
CPU Viruses: CPU Science created the CPU viruses for security purposes, but now look. 9/10 of computers in the world have viruses
Hacks: Once again, CPU Science made hacks and released them to jackasses
Identity Theft: CPU Science made it possible with hacks and CPU Viruses and, most likley, computers themselves, to lead to identity theft.
Poverty: CPU Science led to identity theft, which leads to, for 3/10 of americans, leads to losses such: Losing a house, car, not being able to pay for food, forced to live on the street, forced to beg.
Viral Diseases: CPU Science tried to get cures, for simple diseases like the Cold and the Flu. In the process, the Measles, Pnemonia, malaria type 2 and 3 were created and exposed to mankind to be dreaded by.
MD Weapons: CPU Science DESIGNED these weapons!
MP Weapons (Military Proportion) such as tanks, rifles... Once again, DESIGNED THESE!

Pros to Engineering:
Makes it possible to travel
Makes it possible for many things lol...
Makes Cars,
Planes,
Boats,
Guns,
Computers,
Household items,
Tanks,
Weapons of Military Proportion
MD Weapons (Mass Destruction), like the war head, A-Bomb, Hydrogen Bomb.

Cons:
Causes deaths of millions through out ever war in Man kind history
Made based off of CPU Science design
Forced to Make
Accidents
Planes, cars, and boats Crash, crash, and sink anually.

All Cons for Engineering are based from all designated designs from CPU science.

So, once again, we all think Engineers > CPU Scientists ANYDAY!

Yeah, the past 3 days were friendly weather-wise. I was at a couple state parks with my GF, and it honestly felt like June outside, until it started to downpour :P. We're already one week until our fourth marking period, and we have like 40 days left.

I'm quite excited for college myself. I initially planned to take programming or a computer science major, but I changed paths into Information Sciences & Technology, which pretty much includes programming.

Take Chemical Engineering. It is hard to learn, but with a masters (4 years) you can easily make 42,000 first year out. I looked up annual salaries fro both fields, and anual average for first-years with masters in chemical engineering make $43,883, while CPU Scientists averagly make, as first years with 4 years under their belt, only a WHOPPING $27,779... Do the math. CPU Science is easier to learn, and with 18 years with a masters you can make $89,446... While 18 years out with Chemical Engineering it can be $114,447. Do your own measures. The Pros&Cons are above, so weigh the math.

Not Civilian engineering, hence civl engineering ;). We are exclusively separate from military related stuff. All we do is make bridges, buildings, sewers, and everything for the welfare and good of the public. As for accients, it's those damn mechanical, aerospace, etc engineers who make "weapons" to compliment our "targets" (sorry bad joke).
Only thing bad is that of all the engineerings, we typically earn the least money. But if we go into enviromental or hydraulic engineering, we can work with chemical engineers ;)

It's massively humid and sometimes raining in NYC. It's pretty gay cause it was really nice few days ago. I hope its not summer that soon, I don't want to start using electricity a lot from air conditioning.

If temperatures don't reach at least 95 degrees F, there is no need for you all to have air conditioning ;)

Haha... I just checked a few things on Collegeboard (maybe not the most direct source, but I expect some accuracy..), and whereas Chemical engineers earn, with a Ph.D, $79,591, Software Engineers (programmers) earn on the same level $87,250. Aerospace Engineering, another interesting area, sadly, is only $72,529.

WTF? Try living in Wisconsin this weekend. My house got a foot of snow dumped on it. And to add on to that there was sustained 50mph winds and up to 62mph wind gusts. It was a bitchin blizzard. But it's April, wtf is goin on....

Yeah, we had random, five-minute long snowstorms up here a couple weeks ago... It was really, really weird, since we don't even get a lot of snow in winter around here... But none of it stuck, so I was sad... :(

Ok. Seriously. At least 8 of you shouldn't talk anymore because you obviously have no idea what computer science is. If you honestly think computer science is programming, then you've been sheltered and will probably pee yourself once you go into the field.

I know it's not programming. My CS friends don't do that stuff in their classes. It's all the Electrical Engineers that have programming assignments weekly. I've seen the shit they do and it's crazy (but this is coming from someone who never really was into computer stuff).

Now, now, it all depends on where you study it :P

Software Engineering is pure programming, using programming to maximize speed by developing new algorithms and such is computer science. You feel better yet, cheeze? Fulfilled your goal in life?

This topic completely took a different track.. if you want to talk about computer science and whatever, make another thread.

edit: yes, this means I'm deleting every post after this that deals with comp science.

Welcome to colorado my friend. We had it snow earlier yesterday, and on friday we had a blizzard. But good news. It all melted in 2 days. Still, it is cold in the mornings and nice in the evenings and OCCASIONALLY nice in the evenings too, but normall it is crappy in the evenings. Welcome to mile high baby... Damn buisness trips.. I'm stuck here until wednsday in colorado, then I go back to seattle :)

Colorado weather frickin rocks. So yea, it is just you. I'm taking classes this summer anyways so I don't really get a break.

Heh. Well, it's warming up here in NJ. However, it can still get warm as hell.

I wish it snowed. Snow is just.. awesome.

I hate you all. Down here we're in autumn (Fall for all you weirdos d:) and it's cold. Febuary and March were really weird, it was cold coming out of summer but then we had an eleven day 'heat wave' (thank god). I wish I had snow, it'd make winter interesting -.-

Omg 3 more days and I'm out of colorado! Althought it has warmed up and the snow melted, it is still shitty here, and I can barley breath because of the altitude...
