They changed their mind about hotkeys and aren't going to allow them to be customized anymore.
Source?
Original thread is deleted but here's the quote.
Red classic.
"In short, their absurdities are so extreme that it is painful even to quote them."
They said in the latest patch release thread that they're going to revisit keybindings.
We'll be releasing a hotfix today to address some of the live issues. We'll also be starting some new threads to specifically address requests and feedback like keybinds.
Latest info about customized shortcuts is on the official website with screen shots and all =)

https://starcraft.com/en-us/articles/20814255Looks like we'll be getting a very SC2-esque profile system. What does everyone think?
I made my mind pretty clear in there. I'm pissed. Bringing in anything sc2-like is shitty.
None.
Why do you care? If you don't like the information stored by the profiles, don't look at them.
None.
Slippery slope. Give an inch and they will take a mile.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.
Everyone thinks criticism is just bitching these days, christ.
Like I can almost guarantee you will see the chat become that little box down there and the profile looks will be otherwise a bunch of random news shit. Why couldn't they just use the old UI layout as a template, since it was widely considered fantastic. Meanwhile SC2 launched and people have never stopped complaining about it. Why is an online game's communication/chat only a fifth of the screen? Yet we need hundreds of pixels between content because "sleek."

Data is cool, and it looks like the chat is simply compressed onto the bottom while you're on your profile screen. The back button seems to suggest that you can go back to the main screen/chat channel from there. I'd guess it's like how you'd click on someones name in the old chat channel, except it has tons more information, and still lets you see the chat.

Except the only complaint that Cecil actually voiced, is using Bronze/Silver/Gold etc instead of A to F rankings from iccup. Hardly an actual functionality-affecting part of the system.
If he'd said what you said about the overall layout and prominence of chat etc, then I would have agreed with him, not withstanding Swampfox's reasonable observation that this is probably just how the screen looks when you're browsing profiles, which was a rudimentary feature available in SC1 already.

I will say that most popular ums thing concerns me. How will it work??
It seems to me if it detects how many games played then smaller maps that are played over and over again and take very little time to complete will be detected as more popular than a longer map. Like falling tiles vs tower defence.
I feel like there should be some community rating system like the steam workshop.

Although map duration would be easy to account for, as would number of players.
I wouldn't have any confidence in Blizzard actually accounting for map length or player number though - too much lateral thinking required to conceive it as a problem that needs addressing.

Oops I'm dumb. I thought that was showing the most played UMS map across battlenet. I see now it actually means the most played map this particular player has played.
So far the popular feature is mostly used for ladder games to quickly find an opponent of a certain rank... Like ad-hoc match making. 1.18 has ladder maps with ranks appended to the end of the map name, like FightinSpirit_E.scx. It's a very odd system right now.

so long as they don't touch the gameplay i'm totally fine with it. purists who are against any changes to the interface or hotkeys or whatever are the worst. you want an antiquated, shitty-looking client with letter rankings? it exists, has existed for 20 years. go download iccup.
the reason the remaster exists is to make all the out-of-game stuff better, and improve on aspects that don't impact the core gameplay.
this too shall pass
Well me personally, I'm definitely not complaining about all changes, and had reasons + merit to wanting A-F. Pretty rude to make wild assumptions like that. Why not join the discussion and ask why people have a different view than your own, and actually contribute something of value to the forums? Instead of making assumptions and labeling others in negative light.
