If you haven't seen any of the cinematics for the new MMO Star Wars the Old Republic..

While I don't really like the fact that it's an MMO.. nor do I have any interest in the game itself..
I'm just stunned at the quality of the cinematics.. I mean.. the sound effects and everything.. are really top notch quality.. Movie quality.

Anyways.. hope u guys enjoyed it

I've heard of this and was watching it a few months ago, but kinda stopped for some reason or another. Anyways, it looks great! I'm curious to see where it goes!

Oh man this brings back awesome memories of Lucas Arts Star Wars games like TIE Fighter and Knights of the Old Republic. They also had brilliant sound track, amazing atmosphere and a lot of depth. I just hope this is going to be anywhere near that quality (with newer technology of course) and not just a good trailer movie...
I kinda doubt the depth part, but we'll see.

Same people. I don't doubt the in-depth part. They've spent 100 million on this game. There's a lot of content.



It was good before it was 3D. Y'know, before cartoon network stuck their grimey paws in it. Check this out. Same people who did Samurai Jack.

Wow not gonna lie; that was pretty awesome. Non-stop 6 minutes of pure ownage. Those are the sort of Force moves I always wanted to see in the movies but never did! Also LOL there was a Wilhelm Scream at 2:12.

I'm guessing since this is going to be an MMO, you'll have to pay for it?

And god damn, I miss the Star Wars music. I haven't heard it in such a long time.

Not just the same people, Lucas Arts is actually participating in developing the game.

So from what I learned about this game from rolling about /v/ is that most races only have 2 different classes except for humans which can be ALL classes. Some of the races which are KNOWN to have been certain 'classes' in canon star wars won't be able to do so. I also hear a lot of hard core old school star wars mmo players who beta tested it complained that they are misleading people. How? I'm not sure but it had to do with how you attack enemies. Like it lacked hardly any user input besides a click or two and then you just watch.

A lot of other people got mad that jabba/hutts and wookies aren't a playable race.

It's skepticism but It would be interesting to share these rumors. Though I forgot to save the image of a sheet that shows all the playable races (like 7ish if I recall) and all the classes. It would have been interesting to post :3

People also were getting mad that they used modern star wars canon as the story for this or w/e. Star wars fans hate new canon or something? idc sw for fags anyways :3

(what I heard about the early versions of the first SW mmo sounded like the best game in the world until they changed the game around to compete with WoW. So I heard :3)

Which is why I didn't like the fact that this is an MMO...
I was half-expecting that the game would be like that.. since every other MMO behaves the same way... *sigh*

Despite all that they say, and the myriads of edits and the lack of actual group battles rather than 1 on 1 battles, the combat still likes a click game adventure...
The Jedi deflections look very interesting
and the Cover based combat + ducking behind walls is good as well

Sry, but I'm feeling personally offended by that statement. In my opinion most Star Wars stuff is high quality on many levels.

About the graphics: Personally I don't care about good graphics if the game is fun. (see Ur-Quan Masters) They surely will keep the graphics low so that many people are able to play it with their current hard-ware. However since the graphics are THAT bad, I'm assuming they'll overhaul the engine before release (see sc alpha/beta/release gfx).
