Whenever I click on somebody's profile (Who is online) it says his/her location is unknown. Anybody else getting this?

Even checking my own profile returns the same problem (And it used to show where I just was)

The feature was disabled, and Devlin says it will be kept disabled because it reduces SEN's responsiveness. :(

I order you to forgive yourself!

I think Sen is one of the few forum that had that feature... I wonder if there could be a way to make it work without using the same way it used to use.

I guess you could make it work with a "manual query" so it doesn't get checked everytime a profile is viewed, but there's a button that, when pressed, tells you the location of the member.

I'm pretty sure having it set up every time someone checks a profile wouldn't generate more than 10 query/minute... this shouldn't slow down the server...

NudeRaiders suggestion could work. The problem with it's current (previous) implementation I think would be that it is not members' querying your location causing unresponsiveness, it's because every time you navigate elsewhere your location is changed.

Overall it's a nice feature, but is it really that useful? What's important is knowing if someone is online or not. We can already also see the members who are viewing a thread - I'd much rather see the member's writing a reply actually be displayed in Italics.

What I said was that IP disabled it because he thought it led to the constant MySQL errors and slowed down SEN. He can re-enable it whenever he wants to, but that requires him to make an appearance. :D

Is it me, or is too difficult to make changes to SEN? Stuff like this should be in a big admin control panel, so that staffers don't have to rummage through code and risk breaking stuff just to enable or disable or tweak one thing.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

The funny thing about the Admin CP is that a lot of the features on it are incomplete as the only people who were Admins could make changes without needing an Admin CP. It is as if this site wasn't expecting to have new Admins take over. You mainly have to consider that Mini Moose and IP were the sole Admins for a long, long time, and both knew what they were doing regarding the coding of SEN. Back when IP was really active, he'd take care of the coding issues while Moose took care of the community issues. Unfortunately when I was appointed Admin to manage the community issues, IP was still extremely inactive and we only had Devourer to help as the site's coder.

Right now it is difficult to make changes to to the code since it is all custom made by IP, and in order to change things around you have to figure out how he did things. Ideally all of these errors shouldn't be an issue since IP is supposed to be taking care of the coding side of SEN, but clearly that isn't happening. Devourer picked up the slack and tried to make everything easier with his 5.1 code, but all the core files were still IP's. Luckily we have DTBK willing to help out as Devourer has disappeared again as well.

I will say that the Admin CP does have some handy completed features to help with the community aspect at least, and whatever can't be found there can usually be modified easily in the MySQL database.

TheHappy115 -- Yea, thats the issue. Thanks. It would also explain why my deleted map couldn't get updated. Updated version reduced collision on units (only thing added) since was dodging game (players collide with each other)

Ultraviolet -- If so, I'd just focus on getting them on scmscx.com and then you can link to that in the showcase thread for your maps

Ultraviolet -- I can't upload my EUD maps, I think the DLDB has some issue with handling them. Are you trying to upload EUD maps?

TheHappy115 -- Its been awhile but ever since I requested one of the Maps I posted to be deleted since I couldn't delete it myself (or update it), I haven't been able to upload any more maps. Any reason for that?
