DISCLAIMER: Even though the game has "Quantum" and a five-syllable word in its name and involves twice as many dimensions as typical RP games, I guarantee that this game is no more difficult to play than Azrael's current "Killer's game". So don't be afraid to sign up!SIGNUPS CLOSE WHENEVER AZRAEL'S GAME ENDS.
This game is played in a four-dimensional toroidal lattice. While you probably don't give a damn what that means, the visual example would be that you can move in 8 directions (North, East, South, West, Up, Down, Forwards (in the 4th dimension), and Backwards (in the 4th dimension)). The game field wraps around itself, so if you keep running until you hit one edge, you will come back out at the other. There are 81 rooms in total (3x3x3x3 playing field), each with unique properties and settings.
This will play out more like an PvP RPG than a forum game; after signups close, I will disclose the rest of the rules and backstory in the first PM mass.
tl;dr information- Kill or capture the killers. (Or if you are a murderer, kill everyone else).
- You have four stats: STR, DEX, INT, LUK. Put points into them.
- Murderers will know who each other are.
- Innocents do not start with the knowledge of who else is innocent.
- Your actions will only have a probability of succeeding. They may fail, but you do not know if your actions fail until the next turn.
?WARNING! TEXT WALL! WARNING!?Collapsable Box
You have been dumped into hyperspace by a random warp fault while going about your normal business that day. You wake up in a dimly lit room, and notice that you seem to feel a fourth spatial dimension show up. You do not notice any significant change in the laws of physics, but realize that you can now move in a fourth spatial dimension. While briefly elated by this epiphany, you are shocked to find that you seem to have forgotten many of the skills you formerly possessed in our world. Yet, you feel as though with some effort, you can absorb vast knowledge and power from your surroundings...
Each player begins with a number of stat points that may be allotted to four different stats at the start of the game:
Lists are in no way exhaustive. Many other side benefits may be present but not listed. When you gain those benefits, you will be informed.Strength (STR): This affects a number of essential things and is a significant stat.
- The size of your inventory.
- The amount of physical damage you may do in a brawl.
- The number of physically demanding tasks you can do in one turn.
- The likelihood that you will succeed at a physically demanding task.
- The distance you may travel in one turn.
Dexterity (DEX): This affects a number of useful things and is a significant stat.
- The likelihood of locating useful objects in a mess.
- The likelihood of handling fragile objects without breaking them.
- The likelihood of extracting objects from difficult positions.
- The likelihood of evading blows in a brawl.
- The accuracy and precision with which you may use certain contraptions.
- The likelihood that you will succeed at an accuracy-demanding task.
Intellect (INT): This affects a number of potentially useful things and is an auxiliary stat.
- The likelihood of identifying an object as useful.
- The likelihood of understanding how a foreign object works.
- The likelihood of anticipating attacks and minimizing damage.
- The likelihood of using a complex contraption successfully.
- The likelihood of repairing objects successfully.
- ???
Luck (LUK): This affects everything... to a minimal extent. Luck is an auxiliary stat.
- The likelihood of succeeding at any beneficial task.
- The likelihood your opponent will fail at any task with a negative impact on you.
Note: Health is an invisible stat that every person has. Loss of health corresponds to the effective fractional loss of EVERY stat. (For instance, if you only have 50% of your health left, your stats are only half as effective as they would be if you were at full health.)
100% health: Healthy. No need to be alarmed.
90% health: Minimally injured. No need to be alarmed. Health will slowly regenerate in this stage.
80% health: Slightly injured. Somewhat less effective at actions. Health will slowly regenerate in this stage.
70% health: Somewhat injured. May need some medical help to work unhindered. Health will slowly regenerate in this stage.
60% health: Injured. May need some medical help. Working is not recommended.
50% health: Strongly injured. Need medical help. Will lose health for physically straining tasks.
40% health: Greatly injured. Need medical help. Will lose health for physically straining tasks. Health will slowly deteriorate in this stage.
30% health: Critically injured. Need immediate medical help. Will be unable to perform physically straining tasks. Health will deteriorate in this stage.
20% health: Gravely injured. Death is imminent. Will be unable to perform tasks other than speaking. Health will deteriorate in this stage.
10% health: Mortally wounded. Death is inevitable. Will be unable to perform tasks other than speaking. Speech may be very difficult to comprehend. Will be unaware of any change in his surroundings. Health will rapidly deteriorate in this stage.
0% health: Dead?
All actions must be performed via PM. The initial PM consists of allocating your stat points, after which you will be allowed to make your first move.
In one turn, you may do the following in any order:
-Move.
-Perform tasks.
-Use items. Some items may be used without costing an action.
-Speak. Speaking does not cost you an action.
If one of your actions invalidates your subsequent actions, you will be informed on the next turn and the subsequent actions are not carried out. Using if-then statements is permissible.
