Update: The entry topic: http://www.staredit.net/topic/11201/

Starcraft II Mapping Contest

Alright senners, time to show us what you've learned so far with the galaxy editor, and I know how you love contests, so here it goes:

Theme: Your very own progress.
Judging Criteria: Nothing set as far as judging points and categories as of yet, but a part of it will be::
* Your contributions to SEN that came from your map. Wiki articles, tutorials, resources. It's not just about your map itself, it's what you learned from mapping so far and what knowledge you can share.
* Standard map stuff

Submit Date: Saturday 22nd, Midnight (-8 gmt). I'll create a new topic for submissions on the 21st, where you post your map and the sen links to the resources you created that shows your knowledge.

Judges: Corbo, Devlin, myself, possibly others

Prizes:
First place: $35, 100 minerals, SC2 Mapping Contest medal, Beta key
Second place: $15, 75 minerals, SC2 Mapping Contest medal
Third place: 50 minerals, SC2 Mapping Contest medal
Consolation: 25 minerals

Yes. Minerals. Minerals will be back but it will be MOSTLY contribution-oriented only. They will return soon. You will have a nice head start (100 minerals = equiv of shoutbox color item in new economy).

Some clarification:
Your map does not need to be finished. However it has to be somewhat playable to show what you are doing. This is a pursuit of furthering knowledge contest.

In, but not with my pseudo-AoS, because of the four-player limit on games. Instead, I'm attempting Biophysicist yet again.

I'm uh... "making a map." It's basically just a collection of stuff I've done with the editor since I got it about a week ago... nothing fancy. Does that count? XD

It might count but would be low win chances anyways :P

I think the point of this contest is more about to get used to the editor and start finding neat stuff in it then actually producing an expert map.

I asked you guys if it was going to be relevant to give a beta key as prize, and no one answered -.-
Now, I gave it to the week contest ^^

Just here for the activity... well not really

It really doesn't make sense to offer a beta key in this case, considering you need a key to make a map in the first place.

EDIT: And I am in.
