I never liked money, especially in RPGs where you just constantly stockpiled money so when you go anywhere, you could buy everything when you needed it. This game will null that and make you always ready to go explore, fight evil, accomplish quests and save the princes. However, I do agree with sam's terrain. His style is exactly what this RPG needed.

For those of you who think that this map has fallen through the cracks like all my other maps, it has not.

I am currently working on the spells and how they will work, next will be missions and more enemies. Then I will probably work on the boss, then some more filler missions leading up the boss. I plan to make the demo last at least an hour or two and I wont give you a good ETA on it, but we will throw out it should be out within a month or two, as I find time to work on the map.

Samsizzle is no longer on board with the project and I have finally decided, after almost two months, that I will continue without him.

Looking for others who are interested in helping out with the terrain, help testing and providing different points of view.

I can do SOME terrrain. Not the best but I'd be willing to contribute some.

Just PM me what you want done and I'll see if I can't tinker with it.

By the way, I'm at my sister's college until tuesday so I wont be of much use until then.

agh i feel bad, sorry lovel things have just been real crazy right now. Here's where i left off on the terrain for people who want to finish it. I placed locations for the room outlines.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

Alright, so I have passed the spells and I am now working on the items you will be able to collect throughout the game. Firstly, you will have your equip-able items such as your three base spells, consumables and additional spell items you will acquire as you progress. These include:
  • Nature (Magic)
  • Spirit (Magic)
  • Will (Magic)
  • Totem (Magic)
  • Birchwood Staff (Magic Boosting Item)
  • Potion (Consumable)
  • Elixir (Consumable)

Following these, you will be able to collect loot from enemies and find them laying about in the wild. They are necessary for creating items(not yet all designed), enhancing items and completing some quests. These entail:
  • Fey Leaf
  • Mehl's Mushroom
  • Birch Branch
  • Pink Pearl
  • Ancient's Blood
  • (More to come as I think of them)

Continuing on further, when you combine the magics and power of the Birchwood Staff, you can gain new magic in a great variety, expanding your arsenal tenfold. As of now, there is still much balance to consider later on in the game, so I will not give out my plans for the spell list. Also, I have been thinking about adding a variety of weapons/armor into the game. Now, the idea behind this would be to make situational armaments, not just 1+, +2 and +3 protection. Would get repetitive and boring, which is how I am viewing this game. Everything will have a purpose and there isn't a need for such useless enhancements. I would rather have an area that X happens, it would be easier, yet not impossible, if you had X.

Any and all suggestions to the game play, are of course, welcomed. I like to view my projects as a community effort, working with a single mindset may help people create the map faster, but it will not make it as diverse and entertaining. Which is exactly what I am looking/aiming for.

Additionally, my first post has been updated and I even added some side-notes about my progression on some things.

This has great potential, I wish you the best of luck. However, I wouldn't worry too much about terrain at this stage of the game. With me, I pretty much did terrain last. Well, to clarify, I did a rough terrain outline for my map, then after triggers I came back and extended and sprite raped it.
