Futbol v1.1

Another somewhat old map that was popular back in the day. I think its one of the better and more exciting sports maps out there. It's a 3v3 soccer game played with zerglings. You can select to play to 7 or 15 or by two other time options. You shoot, steal, and block by burrowing. Passes are made using a shuttle.

The gas represents a power meter, if you take a shot when its at 3 you get a powerful interceptor shot.

I'm also working on a second version which is more accurate to an actual soccer game and is more complex.

I remember this, it was much better than all the other sports maps. the "SCVZ" Line of maps just had no effort put into the map making at all.

That didn't feature square tiles. :bleh: Looks greate Devilesk. Can't wait for you to add in the use of EUD's for passing!

I just put them in today and so far they're awesome!

I just need to do some testing and then I'll release the new version.

After this I'm going to look back at my old maps as well as think of new ones that could make use of EUD's to enhance gameplay.

So instead of burrowing your zergling, you would just select ( click and drag ) a teammate's zergling to pass the ball to them? Sounds cool.

No, instead of unloading units from the shuttle you would just select a teammate's zergling.

Wow! This is VERY fun map! I've played this the whole eveining on bnet. Everyone enjoyed it very much. I've not got such a fun for a long time)
By the way, it seems to work with 1.15.0 1.15.1 1.15.2.0 and 1.15.2.1. Any version.

By the way could you make it for 8 players? it would be even more fun playing 4x4.
One more wish is to make the ball stealable even from the teammates goal hits.

EDIT:
You might want to add an option at start to play on time.

One more idea. You can make the score label to display the whole number of team score and score themselves to represent number of goals hit by each player. It would be fun to have such leaderboard. Or you can just make leaderboards constantly change.

And another note. You could add a little delay at the end that players have a chance to shout out))) You could also display the cup with the winners :D

Yea I originally had that, but I removed it because I didn't create it properly. It's possible though, and I'll probably add it if I make a new version.

I could do a toggling leaderboard showing total goals and individual stats such as goals and even possibly steals and blocks.

I'll probably use these suggestions in my futbol v2 map which will be more like real soccer.

Agrh, those interceptros! Anyway it is good with 1x1 and an observer. This actually may be more fun because when we used an observer as a commentator. It was so fun to have one :D

This is essentially because the common sence suggests that you can steal the ball any time, not depending what player actually hits it.

Hmmm... I thought it is resctricted to make a long distance pass... Because when you select your teamplayer and it quite far from you it doesn't pass the ball. BTW there were moments when I cant pass the ball from the goalkeepr to the player on the other side of the field and moments when it was able.... Is the pass on the other side restricted?

Oh, that things would be cool to have. Version 1 is very good, just please don't complicate the map very much, it is very good as it is now. You can make a fun story how zerglings play footbal or smth like that :D

Yea, that's why in version 2 I had the whole "deflecting" idea. The reason I originally didn't have it so you could steal from your teammate's shot is because it doesn't really help your team if you're stealing from them. However, with the new deflections idea it will add more to the teamwork factor.

Yea, that's because of the offsides rule I implemented. In the older version, where there were still shuttles, there was an actual notification message, but I removed it because when I put in the EUD system it was spamming the message because of the nature of constant selections vs a one time drop from a shuttle and instead of working around it I just removed the message. However, I will add it back if I do a new version.

As for version 2 I'll have many of the new features able to be turned off in the beginning, such as curve shots. That way you'll be able to customize what sort of rules you'll want to play under. Infact, I could probably have a "classic" option which would play almost exactly like the original.

I like the feedback. It's good to know what people want so I know what needs to be done in the new version.
